I didn't watch stupid Big Bird and i couldn't stand those gritty, sugary twinkies or those gummy cup cakes.

Twinkies are sugary (in a good way), but not gritty.  I will miss them--even though I had my first one today, in decades.  I HATE what the Teamsters did to this company.  There were a few who wanted to work, but the bullying of these thugs prevented them, and now everybody loses! :cursing:

I'm going to buy about 3 boxes, considering they can survive a nuclear holocaust, they should be fresh in 20 years when I put them on Craigslist.
Those dying for a Twinkie will pay anything.

I think he might be right, everything I've read about this points toward a possible buyout of certain brands, including Twinkie.
The CEO said he was hopeful, but said with a snack mkt over saturated with competition, he didn't hold out much hope.

One bright side in all of this, is the striking workers most likely won't be able to draw unemployment bennies, the union will have to cough up that money.

Or the different units will be sold individually. The plant in NC is closing, but NC is a right to work state. Once the bankruptcy is complete, somebody could have this plant up and running the next day, with no union involvement.

Whether Obama and the unions like it or not, as jobs become more and more scarce, I think we are going to see a continuing decline in union membership and control. The union workers are not going to sit back and watch their jobs evaporate and companies continue to close because they can no longer afford to pay them fat pensions. From the workers standpoint, it doesn't make any sense.
