The events of this week reminded us once again what a dilemma SA is for the US.

First, we need SA as an ally in the ME. They buy a lot of "stuff" from us for their military and they will provide boots on the ground. We also, can't throw them in the ditch because they will go to Russia in a heartbeat. OTOH, they despicable with their human rights despite of their "we will play nice" stance. I have little doubt they killed the journalist in Turkey.

Some times we just have to hold our noses and move on.

When you say Saudi Arabia you have to remember that behind the scenes they are not "the House of Saud" under one kingdom but a ruling family who many, many members are all at odds. Its like "the game of thrones" royale power play on steroids.  The point is SA doesn't act with a single mind or group think they way we tend to think they do. It would be like some journalist here being killed by the Mafia for exposing them or by a criminal gang or by some lone nut fanatic....it wouldn't be "Americans killed the Journalist" It would be some nut cake or some criminal killed the journalist....same same GI.

SA is the crazy friend down the block that no one can stand, and one with potential for being a great ally, or the nut that sets fire to your house because he didn't like the color, so you wave and smile and pretend to be his best friend while you walk backwards away from him until you're a safe distance.

This is going to be a real test of Trump's power and authority in a situation like this. Trumps ability to make good on his word will the other nations trying to oppose us they can't get away with it.

Hmm...............????

The wise PM, Lord Palmerston, asserted mid-19th century;
"Great Nations have neither allies nor friends;
they simply have interests which time may change."
Our only question should be, ' What is our interest?'
and our policy guided by the answer.
Everything else is sanctimonious malarkey, the yip-yap
of our political assholery.

So correct. In the geopolitical world you do not always have a choice of your current allies.

So everyone who has posted thinks this is a legit story?  This reeks of a bad deep state setup to put a wedge between the US and SA and PDJT and MBS specifically.

Just look who is pushing it - Brennan, Yates, Fake News, etal.

What part is not legit? Are you suggesting this guy has not disappeared?

Where is all the media outrage of all the Mexican journalist that are being murdered or disappearing almost every other day....?

President Trump says Saudi King Salman gave "flat denial" of any knowledge of what happened to missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi, adds he is "immediately sending" Sec. Pompeo to meet with the king.

An observation and reflection.
The msm has anointed jurno Khashoggi as sainted, but reality intrudes.
He is the nephew of Adnan, an international arms hustler and fraud who
was a cohort/confidant of another saint, Osama bin Laden. Remember him?

I feel bad for a journalist getting murdered, but no more than, say, US Ambassadors killed in Benghazi.  At least they're not blaming it on a video.

Now it's supposed to be a premeditated murder.

QuoteSaudi officials initially denied having anything to do with Khashoggi's disappearance after he entered the consulate on Oct. 2, before changing the official account to say an internal investigation suggested he was accidentally killed in a botched operation to return him to the kingdom.

On Thursday, Saudi state TV quoted the Saudi public prosecutor as saying the killing was premeditated, and that prosecutors were interrogating suspects on the basis of information provided by a joint Saudi-Turkish task force.

Among various versions of what happened to Khashoggi given by Riyadh, Saudi officials had said the columnist was either killed in a fight inside the consulate or died in a chokehold when he resisted being drugged and abducted.

I read an interesting article about this today. Seems like the latest intelligence findings do suggest that the murder was premeditated. What I do not understand about all this, is the Saudi's reasoning behind it. Most of the time there is no good reason. But to kill a journalist in Turkey seems like a bold move from where I see it. There has to be some kind of ulterior motive for it.

How about the fact that he was a member of the Muscum Brotherhood?
Let's be honest here, the guy was a terrorist that wrote for the Washington Piss, and the left is trying to keep this in the news in hopes of hurting Trump's/Americas relationship with S/A, and truth is, no one gives a shit that a terrorist was assassinated, especially not me.
