I don't believe that anybody in here has enough information to determine if they would have done the same thing that Sarah Palin did (quit as Governor of Alaska), because none of us have any idea what her financial situation was.  We only have Palin's explanation, and little else.

Taxed, you are taking Palin's reasons for quitting as Governor of Alaska as GOSPEL.  That is called "blind loyalty".  I on the other hand, question her motives, based on her actions AFTER she quit as Governor of Alaska.

Her NET worth was $1mm, per her disclosed returns when she was running for VP.

I don't think so, because they have savings, house, good income, the speaking fees would be there, and for her book, she didn't do a lot of writing, since it was mostly from her memoirs, so she could have written and released her book while, or timed it, after her term.  She didn't have some closing window of opportunity, and the only thing that was stuffing her were the lawsuits.  I think she would have finished out her term otherwise.
