Yes This came out in the late 1960's it is a film about a Russian Sub that runs aground off the Maine Coast and the residents think they are being invaded. The sailors just want to get help getting their sub off the reef and go home. In the end everyone makes friends and the fishing fleet escorts the sub while US Air Force planes buzz them but don't shot for fear of hitting the fishermen.

Something I meant to point out, and I wonder if Russians see it this way as well.
History as my guide, I see Russia on the equator of freedom/oppression. Meaning they have all the ingredients needed to kill off govt oppression, but the question is, are there enough people willing to fight for freedom and liberty, or will they be sedentary in going along with the flow and allowing the status quo?

It's a question that is asked often and the answer is very complicated. We have a huge Islamist problem, once we have that under control, I will be able to reply to your question. Can't fight two different wars, it's a process of elimination.

If we currently had a leader that was Euro-friendly (all of the ones who run against Putin), our country would literally get ripped apart by islamists. It's not about admiration but basic survival. For now.
