Title: Report throws water on "blue wave"

No wonder I haven't heard much about this wave.

QuoteDiscussion of an impending "blue wave" has proliferated throughout the political landscape since November 2017, aided in part by the media and a Democratic Party eager to claw its way back into power.

Yet very little evidence or research exists on what exactly constitutes a wave election or how they can be measured in the future. A new analysis by Ballotpedia attempts to break ground on the subject by examining data from 50 previous election cycles, ranging from 1918 to 2016, in order to appropriately determine how many seats Democrats would need to win in 2018 for their "blue wave" to not only crest but reach the shore.

Ballotpedia's analysis defines a "wave" as 20 percent of elections in the last 100 years, in which the president's party lost the most seats. Using this definition, Ballotpedia measured prior political performance to determine Democrats would need to win at least 48 House seats, 7 Senate seats, 7 gubernatorial seats, and 494 state legislative seats for 2018 to be counted as a wave election.

If that sounds like a large hurdle for any party to overcome, let alone one which has struggled with fundraising, messaging, and bridging ideological divides, that's because it is.

Robert Oldham, a staff writer on Ballotpedia's Marquee Team and one of the report's authors, told the Washington Free Beacon there is a reason why wave elections are not a frequent occurrence in American politics.

"We were working from the idea that if waves can be defined, and that's a big if, they should be significant and relatively rare historical events," Oldham said. "We looked at the last 100 years of election data and found that 1 in 5 elections [can be deemed] waves."

Truth is, they lied, they believed their own bull shit and based a lie on it, never once doing the research.
This entire scenario reminds me of Sylvester the cat chasing the mouse down a flood drain pipe while a wave of water is pushing him, the further he got, the smaller the pipe, till eventually popping out a tiny half inch pipe, soaking wet, and realizing there was no way to get back through such a tiny hole.

That's where the Dims are, they are now beyond the point of return and have absolutely no idea what to do. The panic has set in, the fight or flight has as well, so expect to see behavior from the left no normal human being will be able to understand.
It's gonna get real ugly.

We knew the Blue wave was as real as the  triple-breasted whore of Eroticon Six (http://hitchhikers.wikia.com/wiki/Eccentrica_Gallumbits) as soon as it was reported that Justice Kennedy was retiring. Everyone on the left freaked out. They all predicted hell on earth. There is no hope.

Why?

What about the blue wave they have been going on about? If there is a blue wave and the democrats will take control of congress as they claim they could block Trumps nominee. But they are worried. Really worried. They know they are buggered.

When David Hogg is one of your rising stars, you know you're in trouble.

Ah! So that is what they meant by the blue wave. A leaking port-a-potty outside a Pearl Jam concert.

Yup.  And HRC was going to win the election.

Actually, mid terms are usually a referendum on the President's economic performance. So on that ground, we may see a red tide, not a blue wave.

The dems are so excited that more and more Trump supporters are winning Republican nominations. They still are clueless as to why Trump won.  They really think that is their best hope to regain the house. Dimwits.

Looks more like a toilet stain which lines up much better with the democrat party anyway...
