Oh god I think I have to voice a dissenting opinion. First Gore is a clown that has zero integrity and I am glad his station is being taken out of his hands. Secondly, Al Jazeera that is presented to the US is really not so slanted that anyone need worry about them. In my view MSNBC is much more of a threat to this country than Al Jazeera is.
During the war in Iraq I often would go to their web site. If anything they filled in some of the information that the US media left out and not in a manner to make the US look bad. As I recall in many instances it provided news that seemed less biased than most of our media here. Reality is that very little news is presented anymore that is not done in a biased way either left or right. I am sure that the news they provide in the Middle East is much more biased but the feed that was presented in English was worth reading because it seems as if you have to read both sides to try and figure out what the real story is which lies somewhere in the middle. If someone knows who is putting out unbiased news let me know. I think Beck while decidedly opinionated often provided the information that he used to form his opinion so you could try to figure out if you agreed or not. I also think Mark Levin is among the best at explaining his take on things. He is on at a very difficult time to listen to and I usually do not have time to download his show but when ever I did I felt that I was able to learn something.
So this sale will in my view result in better programing than anything that might be put up by Gore. Oh I watched part of one show on his network while it is free on Directv an it really was scary how some people actually view things. It was that clown from Detroit that took on the auto industry which at the time sounded sort of noble but he really would be all for going straight to a socialist state as long as he got to keep his money I suppose. The show was on capitalism and why it is so corrupt. Very scary stuff.

As I said in the other thread, Beck should sue the crap out of these guys, as they would do to him at the drop of a hat.
He could easily take several million off of them. They have announced that they denied someone fair and equitable treatment in a public business dealing, because of their beliefs.

I do not think that Baghdad Bob was affiliated with AJ. During the war I went to their English site and have to say that for the most part their reporting actually was fair and honest. I think it is sad that I cannot say that about any news agency in the US and find myself watching financial news hoping to get more factual info that you can get anywhere else.
Is Baghdad Bob any worse than Chris Matthews or some of the others on that network. I do not call that news, I think it is more of a comedy act. Of course they have a morning show that seems to be OK the few times I listened to it.
I have heard but have no way of knowing for sure that the news that they report in Arabic is very different than what they report on the English version of their site. Probably worth checking it out to see what you think and in my mind hearing everyone's views sometimes is beneficial.
lol, I would absolutely compare Baghdad Bob to Chris Matthews. I've heard the thing where English vs. Arabic languages is a problem. Though strangely enough, I've also heard that it's a convenient way for Al Jazeerah and other outlets to claim they've said something less inflammatory and/or threatening, than the English translation would appear. I guess it goes both ways, and is used both ways.
