Union Violence in Michigan
« on: December 06, 2012, 04:02:04 PM »
Michigan has been pushing thru "right-to-work" legislation and the unions have been escalating the threats as their end draws near.

It's gotten so bad that the State has sent out emails to all state employees to be aware of their surrounding when out and about.  They warned that they should keep a cell phone with them at all times and fully charged. They also suggested keeping your keys in your hands in a way that you can use them as a weapon to fend off an attack.  Unions and Islam. They're all about peace!

Quote
LANSING, Mich. — After weeks of speculation, Michigan’s Republican-controlled legislature and GOPGov. Rick Snyder on Thursday pushed ahead with a bill to make this historic labor stronghold a right-to-work state, sparking a tense clash in the halls of the state Capitol and setting up what could be an epic fight in a Rust Belt state that will be watched by union and management supporters nationwide.

As police pushed back protesters with pepper spray outside, the GOP-dominated state House of Representatives by a 58-52 vote quickly approved the “Workplace Equity and Fairness Act” that would end mandatory union dues collection at any Michigan company and would apply to both public and private workers ...

What are the unions so scared of?

It doesn't stop people from voluntarily joining unions and paying dues. The unions are so wonderful. They should have nothing to worry about.

Forcing people to join and pay dues should never hav been allowed in the first place.

What's next? Forcing people to purchase health insurance? :scared:

I mean.......................oops. Did that.

Next step will be government life insurance.  Unlike SS you pay in all your life and the government becomes the sole beneficiary.

That's actually being tossed around, although it's not being called life insurance.

They are toying with the idea of having people take their 401K money, and moving it into government bonds with a guaranteed 3% return. Guess who gets to keep the money if a person has no heirs when they die? Or tax it at whatever rate they want before it is distributed?
