Poll
Question: Who would you support?
Option 1: Rubio
Option 2: Rand
Title: Rand or Rubio?
Post by: Solar on February 19, 2013, 08:02:46 AM
I ask because it seems pretty obvious the RINO leadership know they are at the end of the rope and the Base/Tea party is about to let them drop to their death.
Now that the GOP is headlining Rubio in an effort to appease the base, if the race for POTUS were to come down to a tie between the two, which candidate would you back?

Don't get me wrong, I like Rubio, but I don't trust the RINO.

Hands down...Rand if I had to choose now.

It's early yet.   I an old farm boy, I am not ready to put all my eggs in one basket.  We have 3.5 years yet.  I don't see all the horses in the race yet.  In a year of two we will know who the media wants for the race.

If I had to choose between the two, right now, Rand. However, people seem to change the more the spotlight is shed on them, so we'll see how this plays out.

Rand Paul. All other PUBS need not apply, else I will vote Constitution Party.

Possibly Amash as a PUB.

That's the thing, the left will once again try and pick our candidates from a long list of RINO entries.
I just wanted to let the establishment media and GOP know we are paying very close attention this time around and put them on notice were done, this is their last shot to put forth a real Conservative.

We can expect both groups to trash both these candidates in the waning months of the election, it's what they've always done, we just don't have to tolerate it any longer.

Perhaps the problem then is the way the caucus is manipulated?

I'm for Rubio, I think he would take a harder and more active stance in stopping Latin American communism which is important to me. Then again I'm not American and cant vote for either.

I have my own country election to think about, the most right wing party is leading the polls and was the 2nd biggest party las election

I love Rubio and all, but I need to get more up to speed on where he is on immigration.  Rand right now is my top choice.

Absolutely!!! I believe it's why the GOP is floating Rubio so soon, Rand scares the Hell out of them, but I look for the GOP to throw Rubio under the bus come election time, that is, once they've vanquished Rand.

At this point i'm saying neither.  There will be more folks throw their hats in then a better choice will be able to be made.  I hope the final choice doesn't come down between Rubio or Rand Paul.

I think Solar may have hit on it. Rand Paul cannot be controlled so the establishment will try to get rid of him ASAP. I also agree that Rubio has "TEA Party" on his forehead and this alarms the establishment. The last two elections should tell them that moderates cannot win. Some would argue that George W. Bush was also a moderate, but he ran as a conservative. It didn't hurt that he was from TX which made it easier to pose as a conservative.

Rand for POTUS. Rubio as his running mate.

Rand for two terms followed by Rubio for two terms.

That's my thinking at this time......

....and yes, a lot of water will go under the bridge between now and 2016.

Rubio as a slight edge over Rand Paul, Actually I would pick either one
or both as either President or Vice Pres.

Ron Paul had eight years to perfect his organization. It would be no surprise if Rand Paul didn't step right into the organization.

Besides, look at the odds he faced when running for Senator.

Rand for sure.

I like Rubio too, but I'm not sure he wouldn't buckle under REPUBLICAN pressure to ease up and play nice.

Excellent point! And he would have access a boat load of cash, and a massive grass roots organization.

And then the right begins its uphill climb trying to introduce its own candidates, when the all-knowing media have graciously done the public's job for them, and have presented the ONLY viable candidate for compromise and progress....

Meanwhile, the 2016 congressional and senate races will eat away at Obama's supporters, once the general public sees their first income-tax returns under Hussein.

Being asked specifically for a "right now vote',  I'd vote Rubio even though there were a fews remarks made by him at the rub. Pres. election that I didn't like.  Until someone else is thrown in the pot, my vote will stay with him.  It's really too early to say for sure.  I'm hoping that we will have a real conservative for our next Pres.

I'm not holding my breath. Not only has our population been dumbed down beyond belief, but the sole focus of the Obama administration is dumbing them down further, promising more free government goodies, and blaming republicans for everything that's wrong, on a daily basis. Obama and his cronies have no problem telling outright lies, and it's working.

Kramarat, I'm as disappointed as you sound.  I haven't replied lately as much as I would like.  Too much going on around the home front to let these political freaks we have in government  get me down.

Found out a couple of weeks ago that my oldest child, my only daughter, has breast cancer.  If that wasn't bad enough, they did an mri on the total picture to be sure and came out and announced that she has a suspicious place in her other side.  So the surgery is put off until the biop is completed on this new spot.  She's out of her mind with worry and I'm not far behind her.  Somehow, our sorry government problems and issues has been put on hold for me.  Never a day goes by that I don't just want to kick the TV in and boycott our newspaper because of the events I am learning from them.  I do get on the forum and read what all of you are saying.  I get a better view from all of you on the political scene.

I'm sorry to hear that, and I'll keep her in my prayers.

After hearing Obamas compelling speach on sequestration yesterday, My hope dropped a few more notches. The doom and gloom scenario he painted and laid at the feet of the republicans was very scary..........it also happened to be a complete fabrication. We've had some pretty bad presidents, but never a snake like this one.

Thanks Kari, she's always been very healthy but cancer runs on both sides of our family.  She was hoping to be able to dodge a bullet, but so was I last year when I got the news about mine.  Thankfully, hers is no more aggressive than mine was and the docs seem very positive so far.  She just keeps getting hit with more news and we hope we've heard the worst.

You figured out the purpose of this thread, with nearly a million viewers a month, there are many asking these questions and not getting answers from the media or the GOP, were here to fill the void.
We ask the questions the MSM refuses to inquire, and tackle the issues the GOP runs away from.

We workout the answers to the questions the thinking person asks but can't get answers to.

To those lurking, feel free to drop in and say hello.

Paul plus whatever conservative minority candidate doesn't end up exhibiting a Christie-like RINO conversion.  Also make sure there's no juicy skeletons that the RINO's and Dems are waiting on, as with Cain.

It already looks like the RINO's are buttering up Rubio, trying to get him to take financial and media support to abandon some of his principles.

Could be Rubio, Jindahl, Haley, Scott, Rice, West, and so on.  Whoever stays true to their values in the next year or so.

It would be huge if Paul could get the 'prayer breakfast Dr.' to be his VP.

One thing that needs to be done is to set a strong ticket a couple years out and announce that they will be either a GOP ticket, or an independent (or new party) ticket if the GOP doesn't go with them.

Now is the time to disassemble the RINO GOP control of the primaries.  No more pushing the conservatives out, we have the power to stop it.

We also HAVE TO start the 2-3 year destruction of Hillary and Biden, as the dems do every time out for the most likely GOP candidates.  Time to fight fire with fire.

Thanx to all of you for the prayers and well wishes.  I didn't mean to sabotage this thread, just feeling anxious and needed to apologize for my absence.

Solar, you described my intent for all of us.  We don't get the answers from the media.  They are too busy trying to cover their tracks about all of the doo they're stirring to give a straight answer to any legitimate questions.  Like someone said on another thread (taxed) the truth to libs is like sunshine to vampires.  :woot:

I would like to hear more from Ben Carson such as his views on the second amendment.
I don't think that Rubio has the ability to project authority and experience and Rand Paul has pappy lurking in the shadows, neither would give us the needed margin to overcome illegal Democrat voting practices.
