Trump rips Republicans who defied him, threatens to retaliate over Dem investigations

By MERIDITH MCGRAW, JUSTIN DOOM BILL HUTCHINSON

In a shocking political moment standing at the podium from the East Room, the president mocked Republicans who did not embrace him and lost.

"They did very badly," Trump said. "I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad."

He then called out losing Republican members by name for rejecting his support.

"Mia Love gave me no love and she lost. Sorry Mia," Trump said. He also called out Republicans in swing districts like Barbara Comstock in Virginia and Peter Roskam in Illinois.

Despite losing the House, the president said he thought the election proved he was popular.

"I think people like me, I think people like the job I'm doing," Trump said.

The President also called out Mike Coffman (RINO CO 6th District).  I can't stand than RINO POS. I wish the pubs could have found a real conservative to run against him in the primary, but I doubt there are many left in CO - except me. So the voters kicked his part time democrat ass to the curb and elected a full time democrat, Jason Crow.

Trump looks like he's emerged from the midterms, ready to do battle.

 Trumps team may be smaller, but it looks to be more conservative. Even before the elections, the Senate had changed, ready to fight the left.  Ryan was not going to turn conservative and fight the left, so having pelosi front and center might not be too bad.

It's difficult imagining a time where Trump was not 'ready for battle'. Trump is a true warrior.
That said, had the forty or so  whiffy republicans in the house not elected to "retire" early, Republicans would definitely have held the majority. The up side of that scurrying from the inevitable Trump reproach resulted in fewer RINOs in the house.

Victor Davis Hanson has a truly delightful account of the 'Trump Mystique'.. it is brilliant and laced with clear thinking.
