Portland, Oregon, police refused to respond to at least two 911 emergency calls from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees inside their offices where violent protesters held week-long demonstrations.
The National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, a union representing ICE employees, wrote a cease-and-desist letter to Mayor Ted Wheeler, asking him to ensure the police enforce the law equally and protect innocent people.
"Your current policy forbidding Portland law enforcement agencies from assisting employees of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency who request law enforcement assistance while at or away from work is a violation of the United States Constitution's Equal Protection Clause," the letter says.
Demonstrators, some affiliated with the domestic terrorist organization Antifa, set up a city of tents outside the ICE offices. After setting up camp, they became violent and incited violence several times.

I've never understood the mentality of the left and their promotion of a civil war, it's like rooting for terrorists to succeed, there is no winner in a civil war, only losers, and the left will most certainly be the biggest losers since they're a tiny minority of the population that gets the lion share of media attention.
The media gives a false impression that the nation shares their ideals, when in fact, it's less than 10% think violence solves anything.

Don't have to If any ICE officers are aworn as US Marshals (Most taks forces have several officers thu sworn) they can ue assimiltive crimes act and enforce State Law, they don;t like to do it for misdemeanors like "protesting without Permit" and "Establishing abode on public space" which is about the extent of the violations these jerks have committed UNTIL somebody tries to move them and the assaults begin.I beleive there is a federal law against demonstrations within so many feet of a Federal Building as well....used to be 100ft In Wash DC

Either way, the lawsuits should be epic. That's what we always don't do. It's past time to do it. Just like the left, everybody who was hurt, insulted, or inconvenienced should be suing like lunatics. That's the only way to make change.

Sgt thru Lieutenant are tested positions that really run the depts you get a lot of brown nosing Assholes who will step over their mother to make Captain, but theis is where you find the real "Cops" these are the guys who usually stand up to upper management and do ontheir own within the frame work of the law and it often drives "the brass" nuts. I suspect this is what happened here. The rank and file supported by "Mid level Management" had enough of these ANTIFA scum and pulled some strings to get the job done. I have never been in LE. However, I think I can safely say that dedicated law professionals cannot stand to be told to stand down.
