PORTLAND — Authorities arrested the leader of a right-wing group on the eve of a rally that's expected to draw people from around the U.S. to Portland today, prompting Patriot Prayer's Joey Gibson to urge his followers to "show up one hundred-fold" in response.

Self-described anti-fascists have vowed to confront the right-wing groups at the downtown rally and the arrests of Gibson and five other right-wing supporters appeared to be intended to send a signal from police to organizers to remain peaceful or stay away.

Gibson, who is not involved in this weekend's event but organized similar rallies in 2017 and 2018 that erupted in clashes, surrendered Friday on an arrest warrant for rioting. He was at a confrontation that broke out on May 1 outside a bar where members of the so-called "antifa" movement had gathered after a May Day demonstration.

In a video he livestreamed on Facebook, Gibson accused the police of playing politics by arresting him and other right-wing members but not the masked demonstrators who beat up conservative blogger Andy Ngo at a June 29 rally.
A video of that attack went viral and led the Proud Boys, who have been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, to organize Saturday's event.

"What I'm saying to everybody who's listening to this (is) they're trying to shut you guys up. They want you to not show up in Portland, they want to put fear in your hearts. When a government pushes back like that, we don't bend the knee," he said, as he walked to the jail.

"We show up ten-fold, one hundred-fold," he said. "If you believe in freedom and you're against this political charging that they're doing, show up tomorrow but be peaceful. Force them to arrest you for being peaceful."

So I thought I'd try the liberal rag, Oregon live site and see what they had. Well after a long winded piece of leftist shit, this was what they surmised.
ANTIFA good, Conservatives are trouble makers.

Why is this happening in Portland, of all places?

That's the million-dollar question.

Cities across the U.S. have seen street skirmishes erupt between right- and left-wing groups since President Donald Trump entered the White House, yet Portland has emerged as one of the most contested centers in the country's culture wars.

Fanning the flames is the zeitgeist of incendiary political rhetoric, including recent remarks by Trump, that has deepened divisions and resentment as partisan lines harden nationwide.

But a large share of the turmoil is Portland's alone. Its long legacy of left-wing activism, notably its militant anti-fascists, has drawn the ire of the conservative movement as well as the pundits and politicians who lead it.

Meanwhile, the city's liberal free speech tradition has allowed the bitter confrontations to continue while police struggle to keep the peace.

Wheeler acknowledges Portland's protest tradition as a robust form of political expression, but he believes it's been co-opted lately by people more interested in simply causing trouble than having any cogent discourse.

And in picking a fight with antifa, they'll get one.

"I think they come to Portland because it gives them a platform," Wheeler said. "They know that if they come here conflict is almost guaranteed."

Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an "ORGANIZATION OF TERROR." Portland is being watched very closely. Hopefully the Mayor will be able to properly do his job!

What a waste of man power even for a city that size.  Put them in a football stadium and let them go at it.  I am sure ANTIFA people will not last long.

OK, here's the run down. I've been watching this live all day and from what I can surmise from drove and two live reporter video feeds, Fascists have been trying their damnedest to confront peaceful protesters on the Right.
The entire time the fascists have been defacing public property, attacking single individuals for no reason. One fascist in particular earlier today, a black guy raising his hands in the air chanting "Don't Shoot" , got his ass dropped by police, sadly, these photogs are either spineless or too short and weak to raise the camera above the crowd to get a clear shot, so I have no idea what he did to get arrested. These photogs literally let the crowd push them around..
So far I've seen several arrests, mostly women, a couple of injuries, both women, I assume, but again, the camera never caught what happened.

In a nutshell, the peaceful protesters on the Right are having a wonderful day, thanks to the police keeping the fascists at bay, who by the way are angry as Hell, but no one knows why and they're calling the police Nazi, white supremacists and anything else that comes to their pinhead brains at the moment.

One other point. The entire day this station has been running a ticker at the bottom warning of language, but below that, they have a banner stating the Poor Boys have been designated as a "Hate Group" by the SPLC, yes, the fuckin commie Southern Poverty Law Center.

Well he had to arrest him in order to appease the left. I think this is where Antifi over does it and Trump has them listed as a terror group.

After all was said and done, the Mayor held a press conference and had the audacity to blame Joey for the cost of police presence to the city, that he said "I don't want him in my city!"

That's not what happened, I watched the entire protest live. They never turn their backs to the crowd, that's procedure, and had been called to a new location, this same procedure took place all day long.

I saw ANTIFA following this guy and harassing him, what you couldn't see is one of the fascists try and stab him.
Watch the video, and it's of excellent quality. This will really piss you off.
