With a statement like that couldn't that make the city liable for damages to businesses they pulled protection from?

It would if you could ever prove it!

It was not that long ago that the Ferguson police incident was fanned into riots by this Administration.  Does anyone really believe that would have been so bad if Holder had not said the things he said and gone to Ferguson to begin a Federal investigation?

The Trayvon Martin incident was fanned into outrage by this Administration.

And several other incidents were whipped into a frenzy by our Prez..... like the black Harvard University Prof arrested for breaking into his own home.

How many times does it have to happen before America sees the pattern and connects the dots?

This is akin to paying protection money to the Mob. It never ends.
It's the same reason we don't negotiate with terrorists taking hostages. They just take more hostages.
But stop it in it's tracks and the riots will cease.

So what have the rioters learned?

Well that was before b o second term in office.    :cursing:

Yeah, we don't have any problems in Texas either!!

Baltimore is heavily black in population and virtually all city office holders are black democrats.  That answers a lot of questions.

That is also why I did not allow my kids to attend Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore).  Once we visited the campus, I pulled the plug on that school.   :scared:

Eric Garner died of a cardiac arrest in the ambulance on the way to a hospital. He was not strangled. We need to stick to the facts in discussing things, else people will start calling us liberals.

"Positional Asphyxia" is the cause of most "in custody deaths".  In layman's terms...Adrenaline + a Goose Pile on top of a suspect who may have a breathing problem can kill someone.  As in the case of Eric Garner, it is not always immediate.  The facts of this case don't matter any more than the "Hands Up/Don't Shoot".

The fact is that all officers are taught to have the Senior Officer on the scene step back and give verbal commands to roll the suspect onto their side, as soon as the officers conducting the takedown have control.  ALl Police are taught to do this and it is a seldom occurence when the Sr. Officer on the scene can not disengage from the actual takedown step back; supervise and take command.

So what happened with Eric Garner>  If you view the vido tape you can clearly see their is a black female Sergeant standing back from the officers conducting the takedown (goosepile) and she doesn't appear to say or do anything.  Why hasn't this come to light.  I'm sure it did in the Grand Jury.
Such incidents of a take down gone wrong, generally result in civil liability for the agency, but it is not criminal.  The officers are doing the job they are trained to do.  In the case of Eric Garner, Mayor DeBlatto made enforcing illegal cigarette sales a major crime ordering his police to go after this, while backing off on the violent crime units!

What happens when you bum rush a cop after attacking him and trying to take his gun? Bang!

What happens when an uncooperative suspect has to be taken down and it ends up in a goosepile?  You got it!

I'm watching Megyn Kelly's show, and there are looters emptying out a liquor store.  No cops around.

I lived there for 17 years. I recognize all those burning and looted buildings. Really sad.

They are burning down a new community center under construction.  One of the reporters said the police are outnumbered and retreating.  The reporter also said they were shooting something from the crowd, and he was wanting to get out of there.

The mayor blew it the governor has been trying to reach her all day because he cannot order them in until he received the official request from her office. They are in route now! The governor made it real clear that the mayor held up their deployment! (Remember Bush and Katrina where he couldn't more troops into the city without state and city authorization? I wonder if they'll blame the governor!!)
