Title: Outrage
Post by: supsalemgr on January 02, 2013, 01:08:29 PM
I understand Obama has gone back to Hawaii to finish his vacation. Ed Henry on FNC said it was to the tune of $3M from us taxpayers. This is just another example of his not caring one bit about the economy or fiscal sanity. He doesn't care now that he has been reelected. His arrogance will only become worse as time moves along into his second term.

Tell us who's gonna say anything about it except for some guys on a message board.

There's a hundred things that Obama should be investigated, censured, or impeached for, on the table right now.

We'll end up hearing about exactly none of them.  It would cost somebody their invites to the biggest parties and golf outings, so it will never happen.

that's right, nothing will happens and everybody will just vote them in again. They also gave themselves another pay raise and there will be no consequences to that either.

Just curious, did you guys all come from the same forum?
We seem to be getting a lot of new members in the last few days, I was wondering if it's just anger at DC BS, or tired of another forum plagued by libs?

The site at PF.com has been overrun by snotty teens and older university dropouts who revere everything Obama, and make monolithic, aggravating noise in every thread.

I quit the place, though some of the old head conservatives have fun poking at them.  It's not my cup of tea.  I can't keep talking with kids and old hippies who only say things like "stupid says what ?" and "haha made you reply" and such.

Welcome, newcomers.  Y'all fed up too, I see.  Well, this is a great place to air it out, no nonsense here, just pretty good folks that have a habit of thinking with their brains.  Few libs here but they don't bother much.

George Bush had 1,020 days on vacation for his 8 years in office. The most in USA history.

" President Bush spent 32% of his presidency on vacation."

http://politic365.com/2012/05/08/obamas-vacations-of-any-president-bush-racked-up-the-most/ (http://politic365.com/2012/05/08/obamas-vacations-of-any-president-bush-racked-up-the-most/)

Now I'll wait for the usual line, " Stop talking about Bush, Obama is in office now".

Nice try, but you are comparing apples to oranges.

The OP is talking about the amount of tax payer money spent on Obama and the 1st families vacations - you are talking about the number of days spent on vacation.

Total taxpayer dollars spent of the Bush's vacations (which were almost all spent in Texas) was a whopping $25 million - over 8 years! This includes all the White House parties and other social events.

So far, in only 4 years in office, Obama and the First Family's "vacations" and social events have cost the American Taxpayer $57 million! If we carry that number out to the end of Obama's second term, the total bill for the American Taxpayer comes out to about $114 million.

And that doesn't even include the $2.2 million for Obama's "tour buses".

SSMGR,

Obama will have doubled the cost of their vacation when they finally lit back in DC.  Did you forget that he came back to DC and then back to Hawaii? Total will be around 8million, not counting the cost for his security and that cargo plane that has to go whenever they go.  Actually, the cost could top 10 million by the time it's all added up and delivered to the taxpayers.

Yeah, makes you long for the days of Clinton, where he'd just sneak out for a BJ and not cost the tax payer much at all.
Or should we go back to JFK and what his affairs were costing the taxpayer?

Forget it Fox, your guy is in and ripping us off blind and the media is giving him the Royal treatment, any mention of excess in this Marxist regime would be considered treasonous.

I believe there are two or three of us from from the Blue Ridge Debate forum. I don't change my handle, but others do. That forum was formed after the Hendersonville and Spartanburg newspapers closed their forums. The libs had gotten totally out of control. On the new forum there was no debate, just vulgarity and disparaging remarks for any non lib opinions.

Glad to see all of you.
Were about ideas and debate, but factual debate, not that crap found on other forums where someone makes a claim they heard somewhere else and someone else backs it up to claim it factual.
That shit doesn't fly here, we demand all claims be subject to verification, it keeps everyone in line.

New here too.  Used to be on Slate until that closed.  It was pretty frustrating but if you put up enough ideas and intelligent comments there were those who would reply in kind.  Then I went to the hill and would post on articles there.  The format was never very good but then they changed to where it was very difficult to do much more than post and move on.  What feedback you often got was just name calling, race baiting and claims with no basis.  I came upon this forum looking for a site where issues were discussed and those who disagree with my point of view would disagree with a reasoned reply.

I have an opinion on pretty much everything but I have no illusion that my opinion is correct and actually enjoy when someone provides good information that leads me to either reevaluate my view or change it completely.  I know that I do not have the time to do extensive research on everything so I fully realize that my opinion may not be based on all the facts.

So far I have enjoyed reading the discussions and with few exceptions find that most posts are respectful and the view of someone willing to debate the issue and not just name call or disparage those who disagree.  I hope my early view of this board continues.

Welcome, and your description of the forum is spot on, that was the reason for starting this forum.
I was on another where the admin claimed conservative status, but his actions were anything but, so I started this one so Conservatives could have a safe place to discuss issues.

What we don't tolerate is simple talking points or opinion pieces as factual posts and are subject to challenge, left or right.

They were working vacations.
I remember when all you Leftoids were making fun of Bush for helping the Saudi King (in his 80's I believe) get around his ranch.

It figures that the liberal POV would be that Bush 2 / Bush 1 / Reagan working vacations at their homes, or Camp David, not far from DC....would be the same (no, worse) than Obama and family jet setting all around the globe to the most fantastic and opulent of locales.

There isn't even a logical ground on which to discuss anything anymore.

Thank you and so far I am very happy to have found this forum.  I hope that I am not alone in really wanting to hear others views on things and not just political rhetoric.  I was a Dem for most of my life but had to leave when I saw where the party was going and a good part of that was what they did to Hillary.  Talk about a war on women and I think the Dem's have actual blood on their fingers not the GOP.

I guess my views on things are more libertarian but like many I guess I am all for fiscal conservancy and social liberal.  Actually think the gov should stay out of our personal lives and govern in those things that are stated in the constitution.   Think the GOP would stay out of those social issues as well.

Thanks for starting this forum and I guess my congratulations on a job well done.

It is incredibly nice to discuss things with reasonable adults.  Instead of a bunch of snarky, bellowing kids and adult socialists / anarchists / nihlists who act just like the kids.

Taxed, Walks Boo and others were essential in it's success and Taxed is my partner in all of this and also does all the upgrades and was instrumental in making us one of the top Conservative forums on the web through his efforts.

umm oh he did... Your paychecks are smaller <---- Obama did it lololol
