. . . Psychiatric drugs do!

But Obama and the Socialists have an agenda--disarm legal Americans.

QuoteAre we over-medicating our people, especially our children? Do certain medications have dangerous side effects for certain people? Can they trigger latent violent tendencies, or even cause people to commit acts of violence they otherwise would not?

See the HUGE list here.

BILLY Defiant

There is a cental theme in al these recent shootings. The person was metally ill and had been prescribed "Theraputic drugs".

Look at the rise in the drugging of our children often intiated BY THE SCHOOL SYSTEM and tell me you do not see the Irony and the correlation.

Precautions:

Prozac-

Celexa-

All have the same warning:

Suicidality and Antidepressant Drugs

Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, and young adults in short-term studies of major depressive disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders. Anyone considering the use of Zoloft or any other antidepressant in a child, adolescent, or young adult must balance this risk with the clinical need. Short-term studies did not show an increase in the risk of suicidality with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults beyond age 24; there was a reduction in risk with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults aged 65 and older. Depression and certain other psychiatric disorders are themselves associated with increases in the risk of suicide. Patients of all ages who are started on antidepressant therapy should be monitored appropriately and observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior. Families and caregivers should be advised of the need for close observation and communication with the prescriber. Zoloft is not approved for use in pediatric patients except for patients with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). (See WARNINGS: Clinical Worsening and Suicide Risk, PATIENT INFORMATION and PRECAUTIONS: Pediatric Use)

I had this discussion with a friend last night. My son had a mind of his own in school and got in his share of trouble, Not nearly as much as I did but zero tolerance and politically correctness today is the norm. When he was in 8th or 9th grade the school nurse had him counseled and they recommended some kind of drug for him. I yelled hell no. He's as normal as any young man I know today.
My daughter has a friend who was hyper (kind of normal in my home) and she had 4 sisters so their house was always in an uproar, this poor child has been on something now for years and is a walking zombie. She can barely hold a conversation.
These drugs are not good for children and would never allow my kids to take any of them.

I was a pure hellraiser in school. I'm sure they would have had me on all kinds of drugs. As with most kids from those days, I got my share of bumps and scrapes, but turned out okay.

The drugging of our youth should be issue #1.
Adolescence is part of growing up, and it's a tough time for most kids; whether they act on their feelings or not.

The drugs are just another part of the ongoing effort by the left, to have control over, and alter, both human nature itself, as well as behavior. It ain't working.

This may be an old cliche but true. Kids must be kids it's a learning experience but the PC has taking over.
When I was in school there was a fight nearly everyday out the back door of the gym, you know what the teachers did? Nothing. 99% of the times the kids either became friends or at least respected each other enough to leave each other alone. It's called growing up.
Today they aren't allowed to disagree so the hatred builds up inside.
I'm no DR. other then of hard knocks.

Soo true K, childhood is where you learn the majority of knowledge that takes you through life, to drug that moment in time or try and quell it, is relegating that person to a life of misery, as well as those around them.

Like you, I too was a pain in the ass in school, but it was the lessons I learned because of my behavior that gave me the tools to succeed in life.

It sounds many of us are of the same generation. I like many here made some dumb choices. The good news is we were allowed to suffer the consequences of those choices which was quite beneficial. We had a city gym in the town I grew up in and I learned many good life lessons beimg a "gym rat". We learned there was a pecking order and who mess with wand who not to. I am so grateful for those lessons now.
