Of course they do! Whether they realize it or not, folks form first impressions, and those impressions are heavily affected by physical appearance, i.e. attractiveness.

That being said, I question the authors' selection of Scott Brown for that article's "poster boy" for attractive conservatives. He's a very pretty man, it's true, but I doubt if most of the folks on this forum would call him "conservative."

I think people vote based on attractiveness only to a limited degree... People sometimes call politics "Hollywood for ugly people." Most people in politics aren't that good looking.

Although I am inclined to agree with you, I know people who know absolutely nothing concerning what is happening in our nation. I have had a few of them ask me what will be on the ballot and how should they vote. It leads me to wonder if the ballot displayed pictures of the politicians, how many votes would the better looking candidate gain from those who do not know what is going on in our country.
