Of course, that's not really what he said, but he just as well have.
McCON making DACA deals with the Marxist Dims and Trump won't have any of that nonsense, and he told them so, that he won't sign a Squishy Bill if they send him one.

A senior administration official said Tuesday night that President Trump "will veto any bill that doesn't advance his common-sense immigration reforms" — a hardening of the White House bargaining position as the Senate begins an epic debate.

Why it matters: With moderate, bipartisan senators looking to restore protections for "Dreamers," who came to the U.S. as children, Trump is laying down a marker: He won't approve the squishy bill that will most likely come out of the Senate.

Reality check: There's almost zero chance the Senate approves a bill Trump will like.
Trump wants long-term cuts to legal immigration.
The other side ... A Senate Democratic official tells us: "Their spin is laughably bad. He ended the [DACA] program. He would be deporting them. Who in their right mind would blame Democrats?"
In discussing the White House's strategic thinking, the administration official asserted confidence on immigration, saying Democrats who resist Trump's approach will "be walking into a political suicide march."

The administration official said: "The White House has claimed the mainstream, middle ground on immigration."
"By opposing the president's framework, Democrats are making it clear that they care more about donors than Dreamers."
"Republicans have Democrats backed into a corner," the official added. "Democratic leaders are now catering to the far-left activist wing of their base."
"Democrats are selling out American workers for open borders ... [T]he White House is making it clear that the Republican Party is the party of American workers."

I hope Trump stands his ground. If McConnell goes for the "narrow" bill that is being discussed it once again it just confirms how he has thrown in with the libs. If he had any balls he would introduce a bill that includes the end of chain migration and the lottery. That would make democrats into a vote that would take care of the "dreamers" but tighten immigration laws. The good news is a "narrow" bill faces tough sledding in the house.

It looks like Trump is positioning the Con for failure in making him own this right before midterms and having a complete list of names the public can see who is selling the constituency out to the left..

This is shaping up to be a pivotal time as far as immigration is concerned. It is an opportunity for the senate GOP to totally disarm Schumer and the democrats for the mid terms. The question is whether McConnell has the courage to bring the matter to a vote.

My concern is McConnell and the RINO's rolling over. I personally wrote my two RINO senators (Burr& Tillis) today expressing my views about a narrow bill.

Here is a good breakdown of how senators voted on the four DACA proposals yesterday. Surprisingly. my two RINO senators voted properly on the proposals in my view.
