This is from a friend of mine: (Names have been changed for privacy)

"I am totally flummoxed. NC turned down my daughter, Ann, for Obamacare. The reason: 'Your household's yearly income is too low for a tax credit. Generally, individuals and families whose household income for the year is between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty line for their family size may be eligible for the tax credit. '

Aren't the people who are below the poverty line the ones that need the help? Ann is laughing about it. I am fuming about it. I am beginning to believe our country is beyond help and only the rich will survive."

I've known this person since high school. She is largely apolitical. She chooses her stance on issues based on the merits of those issues, not party ideology. She is frustrated and I don't blame her in the least.

If she's below the poverty line, shouldn't she qualify for Medicaid?

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

She doesn't earn enough money to qualify for Medicaid!

I thought Medicaid was for people with a low income or no income.

You have to have an income at a certain level to apply for Obamacare.

Apparently there are "loopholes" in the Medicad law, and she is falling through a big one!

Leftists are so deceitful in everything they do.

Obamacare has nothing to do with healthcare.

The NAACP has nothing to do with helping blacks.

The feminist movement does nothing for women.

Social security has nothing to do with security.

There are many more examples I'm sure. Everything they do is done to advance leftist ideology and government control. They are just so skilled at presenting their agenda as compassionate. They have done such a great job of demonizing all alternatives. And the fact is most people are NOT great thinkers. They just live their lives and feel what they feel and mistakenly believe that people are basically good at heart.

It's so hard to unlock peoples brains. They hang on the one good thing about idiotcare. The pre-existing conditions part. It doesn't take a 3000 page bill to allow for pre-existing conditions. What was in the rest of the 2999 pages?
