Obama is finally a joke in Europe
« on: October 25, 2013, 01:41:41 AM »
Well it took the liberals longer time than one would think but most liberals in Europe have finally turned their back on Obama, even the communist Martin Schultz is using every opportunity to hammer Obama in order to gain affection from dissatisfied liberals at home. There are still some ardent communist supporters who will stay with him to the end though like the socialist party, and for that I give them some credit for having at least some resemblance of integrity.

Reading the newspapers, forums and discussions at work it is clear they Obama has lost all admiration, republicans are still more hated by the media and liberals, and there are still some apologists that try to shift blame to congress for every fault his admininistration has done, but the paradigm has changed from World Messiah (we gave him the nobel peace prize after all just for being a liberal/socialist) to incompetent weak president unable to control his government.

I still remember the discussions with my coworkers who were so happy that world messiah Obama had come to power and finally the US would become democratic-socialist, now though they view him with the same disgust they do George Bush. When I confront them with "oh so he is not the savior now" they just laugh forgetting it was they who thought so in the first place. Oh well.

So how is the mood in US? Are the american liberals still holding their messiah in high regard?

The answer is generally no, but the Country's mood is obscured by an array of distractions.

If the lifespan of a communistic governing-style (China) is about 80 years, maybe 250 years is the lifespan for a democratic governing-style.  Our founders placed our seat of Government in a rural, hard-to-travel-to farm area.  Not placing it in New York, Philadelphia, or Boston may have prolonged our lifespan.  They knew (as did writer, Kevin Phillips) that  " Capitols rot first. "

My theory is probably wrong, I hope.  Rather than admitting they were wrong, libs have seemed to embrace apathy and distraction for now.

Well, The Roman Republic lasted 482 years if you view the end of the Republic with the first Emperor Augustus.
The American Republic has lasted 237 years since the decleration of independence, if one view the current government system as still Republican.

Communist "Republics" have a shorter lifespan The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics lasted only 69 years and like you said China only lasted about 80 years, though I would not say China's communism is dead yet.

Seems the only true stable form of government is monarchy, though it will be interesting to see how much longer democracy can last with the EU/UN and regionalization is usurping citizen sovereignity into totalitarian technocratic bureaucracies.

I don't think your theory is wrong, but I also don't think decay is inevitable as loss of virtue is always a choice individually and therefor collectively.

Imo, Obama is a classic example of the "Emperor Has No Clothes" syndrome where everyone is afraid to speak the truth about his (in this case, Obama's) arrogance and incompetence.

This reluctance to speak the truth about Obama has finally begun to wane in Europe due largely to the NSA scandals.

Isn't that sad though? They really would rather live in a miserable economy, with the possibility of communism as our future, than take responsibility for the fact that they put a Marxist in the WH.
I mean, here it is 6 years later and none of what is going on is anyone elses fault but Oboz, he made all kinds of promises, created a dream of possibilities and the lemmings ate it up.

It just boggles the mind that these fools don't know enough about economics to understand that we are the producing Nation in the world, the root of world economy, and that if we stumble, the world falls.
Well we've been stumbling for a decade now under Dim control of Congress and Keynesian econ is not working, killing the coal industry is not working, killing the HC industry, isn't working, tying the hands of small business, growing govt etc etc.

But the libs that put him in office refuse to accept responsibility for their mistake, they've been fed the lie that the right is evil and greedy and are too damn stupid to realize the evil is the govt they've grown.

Mountain Shield gives hope in at least the rest of the world is waking from the daze of stupidity, but US libs still refuse to deal with reality.

Well, At least Europe is becoming more right wing every year.

Just read that the number of wellfare recipents outnumber full time workers in the US, and I assume of full time workers government employees are included, which means that the situation is much worse.

The good thing is that people do not always vote out of financial self interest, but usually they do. And seen with record high number of wellfare recipients giving huge electoral success to FDR I'm not sure if the US can recover from this.

Liberals remind me of the die hard nazis, clinging to their fuhrer while marching to their deaths.

It's kind of a weird parallel, Europe has always been left, while the US always Right, and all in a matter of a few years, a flip occurred.
With that said, the Right is waking from a sleep and fighting back with a vengeance.
I believe a new day is about to emerge. Optimist, you say? Yep and confidently so.

You can't really draw any kind of statistical conclusions from an extraordinarily unusual event.  Freedom is by far the exception when it comes to governments.  For more than 99.999% of human existence, the rule has been one form of tyranny or another.  Tribal chieftainship is the ONLY worldview the human hindbrain is capable of instinctively recognizing.  Anything else is an ephemeral construct; a temporary aberration from the norm.

There was no pre-determined expiration date for the American experiment.  And when the current historically unique light of freedom is extinguished, there is no rational reason to expect that it will be rekindled in any foreseeable future.

We had a good run.  Sure, the memory of that will stick in the collective memory.  But that's the easy part: wanting to be free and prosperous.  The concept of the kind of personal discipline it takes for private citizens to actually govern ourselves is something utterly different.  And that is already being lost in the mists of time.
‘‘It is not the function of our government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error.’’

I saw through the guý from the beginning, especially after the lofty Berlin speech, rapt faces in the crowd, reminiscent of the "Rallies" The cult of the personality. In fact, before that event, I thought to myself, who is this person flying around Europe in a fancy plane with writing on it,  behaving all Presidential and preaching the gospel according to.... whoever. And he hadn't even got the nomination at that stage.

And I was seemingly alone in my views, so learnt to keep my mouth shut. And in  particular some of my so called intelligent friends, who thought Obama was "so intelligent" This said with almost holy devotion and fluttering eyelashes.. What I didn't realise was that these friends  are liberal elitists, something I've always been rather naive about, till I came to fully understand this mind set during the last few years.

I think... I can't get over how intolerant  to other ways of thinking  this type of person is. So what does the word "liberal" really mean?  In some ways, we haven't moved on much since the middle ages, when they used to burn "heretics" for not accepting the staus quo.

The upside to the high he created amongst the useful idiots is the inevitable hangover finally set in.
The image of a rock star was overwhelming to the adoring fans, they couldn't get enough, they were promised a bevy of sensational releases, the tools waited impatiently in long lines hoping to see a man bigger than life, their first glimpse of a Christ like figure they believed could heal all ills, stop wars with the wave of his hand, soothe the evil of dictators round the world.

Alas, no release, no actual music, he never walked on water, and all his promises were nothing more than outright lies.
The one hit wonder never even had a hit, he is last years trash and we're stuck with it for another three and even the libs are sick of the stench.

These adoring fans are now embarrassed, stripped the walls of their idols posters, and now suffering from buyers remorse, and there are two options left for them, wake up and join our side and purge the country of the commie disease they brought us, or continue absorbing the embarrassment and ownership that they're responsible for damaging the country.

Like all libs do, they are the ones that never watch football during the year, but as soon as Super Bowl rolls around, they jump on the winning side and act like they've been there all year.

Watch 2014 as libs stay home in droves out of rebellion, then watch 2016 as the energy builds for a Tea party member to take the WH and the Dims have no rock star image to offer.
Care to guess the outcome?

I don't think there will be an election in 2016.  I think Obama will have completed his agenda and established himself dictator for life.   He has the domestic army he promised, IMO, and he is purging the military of anyone who might oppose him.  It was a bloodless coup d'etat.
I voted for the American.

Sometimes it's useful to compare one era to another. The Soviet Union, under Stalin, was simply Peter the Great remaking the Russian empire into the form he wanted. And China is simply the latest reiteration of an imperial dynasty, in this case the communists, enjoying the "Favor of Heaven". As for Democracies, some last longer than others. The Althing of Iceland goes back to 930 CE. And many of the monarchies of Europe took centuries to move from first among equals to absolute monarchies - and those weren't particularly long lived.

Thats true and thanks for pointing this out.

One thing I disagree with though is the Allting of Iceland was more a electoral aristocracy than a true democracy until 1843, not to mention the slave system of thralls only land owners of a certain status were represented and not elected. I guess it's up to the definition of democracy one chooses to use.

I gotta remember that one!
