OAN News sues MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for $10 million
« on: September 09, 2019, 08:56:05 PM »
For 'False and malicious libel, and they’re going to answer for it'

Herring Networks, Inc., an independent, family owned national cable television programming company based in San Diego, California, filed a defamation lawsuit today in the United States District Court, Southern District of California, against Defendants Rachel Maddow, Comcast Corporation, NBC Universal Media, LLC, and MSNBC Cable LLC. The Complaint seeks damages in excess of $10,000,000.

Herring Networks owns and operates One America News Network (“OAN”), a prominent and popular independent television news channel providing Americans with a conservative alternative to the major liberal news outlets. The Complaint alleges that Comcast refused to carry OAN as part of its cable programming because OAN counters the liberal politics of its own channel, MSNBC.

The Complaint further alleges that one week after OAN’s President, Charles Herring, called out and objected to Comcast’s anti-competitive censorship in an email to Comcast’s President of Content Acquisition, MSNBC’s most popular show—The Rachel Maddow Show—opened with the show’s host, Rachel Maddow, telling her audience that OAN “really literally is paid Russian propaganda.”

OAN asserts that, in fact, Defendants knew this statement was false and that they acted maliciously and recklessly in making it. The Complaint alleges that the statement was meant to damage OAN’s business and reputation because OAN, unlike MSNBC, presents a conservative viewpoint; and that OAN was targeted in retaliation for calling out Defendants for their anti-competitive censorship in refusing to carry OAN on its cable system.

OAN is represented by Skip Miller, a partner at Miller Barondess, LLP in Los Angeles.  Per Miller, “One America is wholly owned, operated and financed by the Herring family in San Diego. They are as American as apple pie. They are not paid by Russia and have nothing to do with the Russian government. This is a false and malicious libel, and they’re going to answer for it in a court of law.”

What, that we finally have a Conservative network?

I know, I know.
But until people stop watching the Establishment whore, FOX, OAN is going to get little exposure. Suing Madcow is going to help a lot and I'll bet there are a lot of people out there that never even knew the network existed till now.

Fox was going overboard before but after disney got em they started committing suicide. Now they have lots of feel good click bait stories, as well as numerous stories on their front page regarding things in other countries, like court cases and other stuff. Plus they are slowly bringing in more like shep Smith and looking for ways to fire the likes of judge jennine and tucker.

I've switched my home page over to OAN and it's like a breath of fresh air. I can read it without my 'your-being-manipulated' radar going off. Plus they have a comments section too now so you can see what others are saying and put in your 2 cents.

Great move for OAN and for the Conservative movement. It exposes the fake news left. The longer it lasts the better. If it is settled then it will end with non-disclosures, so we will never hear the reslt.

I know what you mean. The first time I watched OAN, I thought it was some kind of spoof, they were actually telling the truth without leftist filters. I've been hooked ever since.
Haven't watched FOX in over a decade, just an appendage of the Establishment.

Amazing how FOX fails to report about the OAN suit.
They do not want anyone to learn what a news channel actually is.

Now that smug ratbag won't be able to buy those trendy glasses that scream "Hey! I'm a lesbian!" Yeah, we know. The Chris O'Donnell haircut is a dead giveaway.

Now It will have to shop at Walmart for the Chinese knockoffs. Wonder if MSNBC will say, "Have a nice day, you're too much of a liability".

The sad thing is they can't fire her because she's the best they have. Without her all they have is her younger sister Chris Hayes, they guy who spits while getting at thrill up his leg and the guy who claims he was there with Teddy Roosevelt going up San Juan Hill.
