Ah! One of the benefits of driving for a living!
That's the only time I really catch any of them, but I only do about 3000 miles a year.

I paint for a living. What can I say? After 20 years of classic rock, Rush radio is a nice change.

I do about 1000 miles a week - and I'm only part time!

Believe it or not, I think in truth, every state probably looks like that, the media just presents another view, one they prefer to believe.
Much like everything they do, it's all based in emotion and built on lies.

I'm the commuter in the family.  110 miles a day to work and back.  If I toss in some errands.....even more.  One of my co-workers bought a new Subaru early 2012.  I got my new Subaru November 5th.  Guess which one of us has already had the first 3500 mile oil change...     Toy

Back in Sept 2012 our company sold our 2009 vans because we were getting new ones. The lowest mileage on the 4 vans was 180,000 - on a 3 year old vehicle!

Just an aside here.

The original Star Trek series ran for 3 seasons, totaling 79 episodes.

NBC wanted to cancel it after the second season due to mediocre ratings (52nd out of 96 TV shows), but the fans protested and the network carried it over for another season but put it in the 10 PM Friday "death slot".

At no time was lack of sponsorship a problem.

Well that is what he said.  I was in my early twenties then and not a star trek fan. One goes to the other and the reality is nothing makes it to TV unless it is able to be supported by commercials.  My point is that advertising is linked to the number of people that will see the ad but if advertising in that newspaper is bad for the companies image and so they pull all their ads, that newspaper cannot survive just on readership.

Apparently he felt that they had sufficient viewership to warrant that it was renewed but in hind sight it has to be one of the more popular series ever.  I do not watch it but it seems like there have been numerous versions and movies and the original cast still makes money going to shows for the faithful followers.

I am not going to argue that I remember word for word what he said over 30 some years ago but it certainly left an impression since it was not a point of view that I ever thought of at the time.  I mean at 20 years of age who really thinks of the implications of advertising and it was sort of the waning years of the hippie lifestyle.

Taxed  I know you said...You can't ban yourself, but I did abstain from using this site. But anyway........

I had a long talk with myself and I decided I've been to hard on myself and others. I had to reread my Signature:
The Tin man wanted a heart.... I need Christ.... A heart can be broken, Christ can't.
I was watching this movie called, The Book of Eli the other day and he said something that stuck with me. It was where she asked him why he gave him the book, he said because he had been doing for himself for so long to where he forgot what the book was all about.... Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
(It was something to that effect.)

My time here is running out. With that said, it's time I do what I was sent here (Earth) to do.
I'm honestly not following this very well.
Taxed said he banned you once, correct? So who were you before and why were you banned?

Wrong!

I got these computers for a good deal, I don't know who had them or what site they were on. Whoever had them deleted everything on them.
I  understand when you delete stuff that don't mean the info. is gone.

Every so often, when I click on a site, or sometimes just the next page of a thread I'm already viewing, I get a "You've been banned" message.
Fine, I was just curious as to what you two were carrying on about.
