Does anyone really believe the Marxist will shut it down?

The U.S. National Security Agency will end its daily vacuuming of millions of Americans' phone records by Sunday and replace the practice with more tightly targeted surveillance methods, the Obama administration said on Friday. The transition is a long-awaited victory for privacy advocates and tech companies wary of broad government surveillance at a time when national security concerns are heightened, in the wake of the Paris attacks earlier this month. It comes two and a half years after the controversial program was exposed by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

Nope!

Yeah me either.
Considering the Marxist just blew a couple billion on a new building for his nefarious programs.

Opening of the highly controversial National Security Agency (NSA) data center in Utah has been delayed after major electrical problems at the facility led to a series of explosions and fires, according to news reports. Official documents suggest there have been at least 10 power surges over the last year, each one costing taxpayers up to $100,000. Still, the problems are apparently not even properly understood yet, let alone close to being fixed.

Known simply as the "Utah Data Center," the facility (shown) was built to help the out-of-control federal government store the gargantuan amounts of private information the NSA lawlessly vacuums up by spying on the e-mails, Internet activities, phone calls, and other communications of Americans and people around the world. Spanning more than a million square feet and costing taxpayers an estimated $1.7 billion or more so far, the center is reportedly the largest of its kind in the world. Details about the project, including the storage capacity, are mostly classified.

I guess legally it must be shut down, but I think it was a good program. Just get a warrant to listen (if that was possible) to any conversations.

Why, are you kindasortamaybe implying that Hussein the Magnificent is in cahoots with drug barons and insurance-company gangsters? Tell me it ain't so, Orphan Annie! He'd be stupid to hate America and not cut himself in on profits from what is killing us. He'd be stupid to ignore an industry which defies the laws of known logic to avoid RICO prosecutions. But hey, that's MY spin on YOUR supposition.

If they bag us, you get the top bunk.

I think the truth lies in labeling. Sure, it was an arm of NSA, and NSA is shutting it down, but where is the program being moved to, another black box program under Homeland Security?
No, I don't believe for one second they shut it down, especially under this Marxist administration.

Yup, I 100% believe NSA will no longer collect meta data.  No doubt about it at all, NSA will stop collecting and storing bulk meta data.

Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Disney and the multitudes of data centers will being doing it for NSA.  Why not!?   They have more capacity, bandwidth, know-how, experience and better methods of discrimination than NSA.  We know it as advertising, popups, targeted ads, etc., on the internet.  Now that virtually every phone call passes over the internet, it's even easier & closer to real-time than before.

NSA didn't belong in the meta data collection business.... consider it an intrusion into the private sector by a government agency, poorly run, largely ineffective, and a waste of tax payer dollars.   Someone at NSA finally saw the light, "We're duplicating efforts here, let's just politely ask GoogleMicrosoft,ETC., and in return, we'll give them tax breaks, discount this or that for them in return....  and promise not to sick the IRS on them."   Done deal, everyone feels good, and NSA has new partners in data mining.

From what I gather in the news reporting this was done by Congress through the control of the purse strings.

That said, there are those out there insisting we have to have this program. Saying that without it, we'll be hit by a terrorist attack.

Seriously there are those in the MSM and Washington, that really need to stop trying to use the threat of terrorism, to scare American's into giving up their God given rights.

Funny thing is, there's not one shred of evidence that it's ever stopped, let alone interfered with a terrorist plot, or ever having led to the arrest of a terrorist.
All it can show for it's efforts, is a database on the activities of every American and what their political motivations are.

This is reason enough alone to literally shut this govt down and start anew.

Which given what we now know about the IRS bruahaha. And now, the "tweeking" of intelligence to make the facts on the ground, fit the narrative this President want's shoved out there. I wouldn't put it past this President to institute such a program for no other reason than to identify, and target for harassment, American's who dare oppose him and his political party, politically. Not saying that is the case, since it was a "secret" program, and we have a spineless Congress, we'll never know if that is the case. But I would't put it, or anything else for that matter past this President.

Lessee here, Obamao throws open the border and allows ten of thousands of unchecked migrant to stream into the US.....every single one of whom is beholding to one cartel or another, some are "muleing' God knows what contraband, some are setting up networks for later on. Money laundering on a grand scale, billions of dollars of income flowing out of the United States to fill the Cartels coffers....and nobody can figure that out???????

You just KNOW some of that loot is finding it's way into democratic (and in some cases Pub...see Jeb Bush's) campaign chest via dummy companies which are easier to set up that a one man pup tent in South of the Border corruption pits.

The Narcoterrorists have a big stake in this upcoming election.....you betcha.

According to Sen. Richard Burr, the Chairman of the Senate Intel Committee;

"It's not too troubling to get a court order, what's troubling is that your going to have to go to multiple telecom companies....and at their pace, to search their records.  Which means it could take weeks.

What we saw in Paris, once we got a cell phone, we used that number to look at cell phones it had talked to.  Not only Paris, but Belgium investigators, were able to expand the search that stopped a massive terrorist attack, an additional one in Paris, which has led to the potential apprehension of at least a dozen, if not more, ISIS operatives throughout Belgium, Germany and other parts of Europe.

The United States made a real mistake when they eliminated this program, where we could search foreign known terrorist phone numbers if they talked to anybody in the United States.  I think that made sense to the American people, but Congress took that away.  Unfortunately, it's not going to be a timely tool in the future."
