A tabulation error has thrown in doubt the election night victory of Rep. Tim Bishop on Long Island and given Republicans hope that they may add yet another seat to their new majority in the House of Representatives.

Officials in Suffolk County said the error, discovered Friday, shifted several thousand votes and erased Bishop's 3,500 vote margin. That put Republican challenger Randy Altshuler ahead by just under 400 votes in New York's 1st Congressional District. Bishop is seeking a fifth term in the district, which includes many of New York's beach communities.

It's not over. Some 9,000 absentee ballots have yet to the counted, the AP said.

"At the point the only way to be sure of the count is to do a full hand recount of all the ballots,"

Crooked elections are all the Democrats know. If they think their boy's gonna lose, some poll worker "accidentally" breaks the seal on ballot boxes from "enemy camp" precincts, which invalidates all ballots within.

This one happened in two cases in the 2008 election, hereabouts. Both precincts were GOP-dominated. A Democrat won as a result (and mercifully got swept out again in 2010, because of the anger against Obama).

Meanwhile, granting voting rights to inmates --- people too dangerous to let on the streets, but "safe" enough to vote for Democrats --- continues to be a Democrap mantra. They got their ballots hand-delivered in prison, but the Donks simply couldn't find a way to be timely on mailing ballots to active-duty military serving overseas.

.....Mr. Ryan said an official winner may not be declared until the end of the month. Military ballots are not due until Nov. 24.

"At this point the only way to be sure of the accuracy of the count is to do a full hand recount of all the ballots, " he said in a telephone interview Saturday. "There is a reason that Suffolk County residents insisted on having a paper backup and these circumstances demand we use it."

It was a far cry from the tone of the Bishop camp Wednesday, when they all but declared victory.  He was ok with it when he was winning.

I always find it interesting how they call a race before everything is counted.

Anybody care to bet that Bishop is declared the winner?

Those 400 votes are sitting in somebody's car trunk in Suffolk County.

I can't help but wonder how many more "errors" are out there waiting to be discovered, it seems whenever the Dems are involved some fishy "errors" are being made.
