From this speech, it's pretty clear, Steve Bannon understands the desires of the non-political American.

I can't believe Trump didn't do all he could to keep Bannon on.

Bannon had his back, his message, and would have been a bull-dog to stave off the rabbit holes that pull at the administration every day. It is evidenced in the speech that Walks posted and by how Bannon kept the promises and related actions on his white board so to keep them in front of him and to track with his own two hands. I don't know much about Bannon, but I think he was fully behind keeping the promises that POTUS made and believed they were the right promises.

I'm guessing that POTUS is coming off his agenda some. Probably discouraged Bannon repeatedly and so Bannon sought another angle. But that is a total guess - probably wrong. He seems very smart but stays in the background - mysterious to me.

IMHO Bannon is back where he is the most comfortable and where he feels he can accomplish his own agenda.  Bannon couldn't keep Trump's promises; he didn't have the authority.  He certainly could support his agenda but ultimately it's up to Congress to decide how successful he is and it is up to Trump to convince him that his agenda is right.

I hear you. You've defined a deficiency but left out the substance relative to a Republic like ours. If you have a dictator or monarch, he can demand "doing" in terms of well-defined and specific results.

I see it in corporate America all the time - there's those who talk (endlessly) and those who do. Those who talk just steal credit from those who produce - with very rare exceptions of great leaders who are few and far between. It mostly why small business works - the doers are or are near the leaders.

How do you define "doing" from a congressmen or other political leader?

Permit me to summarize a timeline.
Around 3500 BC, the Sumerians of the Fertile Crescent, spawned the earliest form of organized (non-tribal) culture/society; which evolved and endured  in various formulations till 1750 AD (95% of the time to the present day) when the Age of Enlightenment and the the Industrial Revolution dawned.
Those 5250 years produced the most powerful creations and ideas in the history of Man; spawning the foundations of  Western Civilization!!!
(Apologies but I must stop to deal w/a personal matter.)

All I know of Bannon is that he siezed Brebrart's good name and abused his reputation byu backing someone Andrew himself warned about.

Yup!  I've never been able to really understand "WHY" of that, but actually do like the 3 buckets Bannon spoke of.

I'm trying really hard to imagine Bannon was the next step past AB's creating a viable, new media, but other than those 3 bucket things... he's kinda coming up short on the TEA / Constitutional Conservative side of the perspective.   Sort of like yelling into a crowd, "We stand for Liberty!", yet... well, where's the rest of what you *REALLY* want, Steve Bannon?   Did you really say you wanted to raise taxes?  What's the rest of your agenda - 'cause you know what the "hot buttons" are!   Comeon, show us the rest of your hand, pal...   Or... did you sort of 'see the void' left by Andrew & pick up the standard bearer - figuring you'd run with it as long as you could?

Steve Bannon is definately media smart, calculating and on-target with the American sentiment.   I agree with that much.  What Bannon started for Trump is admirable, and I got a sinking feeling, he's right about the Conservative agenda is "over" with Trump.   Am I missing something, just hanging on the edge of the Trump band wagon, ready to jump off with the Bannon exit?

I can't remember where I read the interview with Megan Kelly, she was explaining the political positions at FOX.
Megan is a Libertarian/Independent, Greta is a Liberal, etc., Hannidy is hard right, down the list - not a single Constitutional Conservative.

Those labels are meaningless.   From their own mouths, they either love to play "devils advocate" 90% of the time, or actually are 'his advocate'.

My contention is direct and simple.

The hallmarks of the past included:
* Land and labor as the source of subsistence and wealth for man.
* The promotion and exchange of goods.
* The development of Law.
* Rule by the wiser (oligarchy) and monarchy.
* The primacy of the spiritual (Plato's 'soul') as the anchor/driver of all belief.
Then around 1750, the Age of Enlightenment, the handwork of  the French, who spawned virtually every religious and secular crackpot heresy since Adam, as well as the Industrial Revolution emerged; altering the world forever and in my judgement, hardly for the better.
Their hallmarks included:
* A visceral hostility to both monarchy and oligarchy, as egalitarianism ('we are all equal' ) became a pervasive impulse; allowing pious sentimentality to overrule logic.
* A rejection of structured religion, among them Judaism and Roman Catholicism, to be replaced by sanctimonious secularism.
* The elevation of Capitalism as the source of well being and wealth for Man.
* Material betterment as the measure of success measured through "progress".
* Liberty, replacing ageless custom and tradition, as the goal of Man's highest aspirations.

We are where we are because we no longer look back and reflect.

So other than in having more stuff, in what manner are we superior to those who came before us?????????
