It's time to put our differences aside now that Trump has been elected and come together for the Nation.
Many on this forum refused to support Trump, (me in particular) but all that changed when he won, and regardless of how we view the guy, he is our President and for the sake of this country, deserves our support in the coming year, so let's put our differences aside and work together.
I'm not saying blindly follow him, but hold him to his campaign promises, the very issues that got him elected.

I agree Solar. Well said.

As for the part about holding him to his campaign promises; Trump is already backing down on repealing Obamacare, saying that Obamacare may just get amended instead.

Amen to that. I was not a Trump supporter per-se, though I did (and still do) vastly prefer him over Clinton. On election night, I stayed up until then end, nervous as hell. I had the web pages from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox all open, clicking on renew about every 5 minutes to read the latest numbers. And when it was announced that PA was declared for Trump, putting him over the 270 mark, I went out on my back deck, looked up at the stars, and said a prayer of thanksgiving that Clinton had not won.

But now it's time for us to get to work. "Government of the People, by the People, and for the People means the People need to do more than vote in elections - and bitch in between elections. We need to be involved, sounding off to the decision makers on all issues that concern us directly, and most issues that don't.

Something we have going for us: Trump made certain promises.  They are recorded multiple times all over the place, so he can't just delete them from his web page and go, "What promises?" Add this to the fact that Trump is undoubtedly going to want a second term. Looking at the leftists riot in their streets whining about Trump's election pretty much negates any future support from that faction. So the fact is, he will NOT get that second term unless he wins our support first. We need to band together, speak with a unified voice, and let him know, in no uncertain terms, that our support will NOT come without his accomplishing at least some of those promises - and showing definite, unmistakable attempts at most of the others.

But that message will not be heard without significant effort on the parts of all of us whom define ourselves according to the original intent of the Republic. Time to roll up our sleeves and get down to it, so we can project the message that Trump is to roll up HIS sleeves and get down to it.

And above all, we need to get ORGANIZED. Organized at the national level. Our opponents are organized, you can bet on that. Their organizational abilities is hat handed us the choice between a loud mouthed buffoon and a declared elitist Marxist bitch. We have about 18 months until midterms will come to the top of concerns, and about 3 years until the next presidential election will need our direct involvement. We wait, like so many individual conservative organizations did this election (How many times I tried to combat the "It's too early" syndrome!!) and we will, again, be told whom we may vote for, instead of US telling THEM who they are allowed to run.

What other choice did we have? Crooked Hillary...she was no option at all - she had to be beat, and thankfully she was.

I posted before that I was for Trump, and I can understand the support for Cruz, I like Ted Cruz a lot. But for president, and we are already seeing it, Trump was the superior choice over the other Republican candidates. Trump is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and thankfully the majority of the electorate voted him in.

Most conservatives came home and voted for Trump, it was the right move and the smart move. Considering how close was the election, that was what got us the win. Now we need to expand on the win, hold Trump's feet to the fire, don't cave to the stinking Democrats, and every one of us can get most if not virtually all of what we need.

You can't always get what you want, but....you can get what you need.

Or, we can feel sadness and frustration.

Some people at the top here have no idea --- NO IDEA! --- how much grief and heartbreak I have personally endured from Hillary Clinton losing.

I must have 200 images ready to go about that skank. Few are usable now. Dammit!

Billy's bayonet

I'm going to admit something. I was wrong. I was wrong not to vote this last Tuesday, not necessarily wrong NOT to vote for Trump, but I was wrong not to vote at all. I should have voted for somebody at least on the down ticket. I was really very Pissed when I found I could not write in Ted Cruz so I decided to stay home and not vote at all. I am not saying this because Trump won I ALWAYS KNEW HE WOULD WIN. I SAID THAT ON THIS BOARD MANY TIMES.

I could not bring myself to vote for "the Don" because of his ties to Organized crime and then he tried to dodge that when asked about it even when a pix of him and the Mobster in one of his casino's surfaced. SO I still have serious misgivings.

BUT I will (grudgingy) give him the chance, I'm not going to glorify him, I don't expect much from him but he IS THE PRESIDENT to be and as an American I must respect that office. I've been watching things very closely here the past few days and Donald's conduct frankly has me impressed he seems contrite, diplomatic.... I know it's all an act, I know he really deep down hates Hillary and Obamao, but if he can exercise that type of discipline, that type of restraint then maybe he is moving beyond the buffoon I take him for. WHo knows, he might actually make things better, he doesn't have to perform miracles just make things better a bit.

Everywhere I go I see people happy, jubilant even, a lot of people, friends of mine who supported and voted for Trump are saying " Ol' Buddy, you should be glad, we took the first step in getting our country back" It slowly dawns on me that they are right. And now that I see that I am ashamed of myself for NOT voting, at least for someone, there were some good people on the Ballot and I have a sense that perhaps I let my Fellow Americans down.

Anyhow, enough melodrama we have a new start lets make the most of it.

Well the lefts newest thing from move on is the petition with upwards to 3 million signatures to try to influence the electors! Regardless of your thoughts about Trump this cannot be allowed! It cuts down our whole system if by some remote chance it succeeds.
If you have any voice you need to help shout these people down! Congress is the main barrier to this movement because if they were to succeed in flipping electors congress must certify the results. Congress should make it clear they will not accept any other results then the election night results. Contact your Congress critter!

Only if Trump gets us out of the United Nation...LOL

Like I stated in another tread now that he is president and as long as he governs 3/4 right i'm with him and I'll be glad to take my licks in the "I told you so" arena. Once he makes that hard left I will brake out my new keyboard and fire away...lol

Congrats President Trump....!

I have a few thoughts...

To the Trump supporters who rightfully can say they were right, you also need to admit that Trump gave us plenty of contradictory material.  Conservatives, like myself, do take someone's actions, interviews, etc., into account to know if their word holds value.  Those close to him, like Ivanka, Gingrich, etc., know him personally, so it's easy for them to say "Donald wasn't really crazy", etc.  For the rest of us, we didn't have that luxury, and only had past media to try and figure him out.  It's easy when you know the guy personally and know where he really stands, as he is flipping all over the campaign trail.  At this point, we don't still know if he will hold true to his campaign promises, but I am optimistic and supportive.  Trump supporters were right about the undercurrent, and right to say he'd win, but NOBODY outside his inner circles knows if he will stay true.

I also want to make sure we distinguish between #nevertrump and someone like myself who is #neverliberal.  In theory, a rabid liberal can be a #nevertrump-er.  I had, and still have, plenty of questions about President Trump, but am very willing to say I could be very wrong about him, but I will always reject a liberal, or someone I perceive to be a liberal, 100% of the time.  A #nevertrump person has an issue with Trump personally or specifically.  There are those of us who didn't care about stuff he said, like the Access Hollywood tape, but were pissed about it because it was easy baggage for the Dems to exploit.  (Regarding that, where was that final surprise?  It never happened.  That speaks a little more to Donald being believable).  To say another way, there's a difference between a #nevertrumper and someone like myself who didn't care about Trump's bravado but cared that he's a liberal (even though he may not govern like one in the end).  He's a liberal that I couldn't vote for, until he proves me wrong.  With that said, if he is a liberal, but he governs like a conservative, then count me in for 2020.

So far, the names being floated for cabinet positions are looking pretty strong.  That EPA one alone has me feeling giddy.  I am EXTREMELY optimistic for what he's going to do.  We all do need to be supportive, and when he goes liberal, it's our conservative duty to call him out.
