Dear Senators McCain and Graham,

I am writing you today to urge you to vote against the confirmation of John Kerry to be the next United States Secretary of State. While Senator Kerry served his nation in Vietnam, his record on foreign policy related issues has been out of touch with the main stream, and dangerous. Senator Kerry is not qualified to be secretary of state because he has shown poor judgement, he has shifted positions on foreign policy issues for decades, and he has made statements in the past which have been offensive to our soldiers in harms way.

The laundry list of why John Kerry would be a dangerous secretary of state is long, but there are a few points worth highlighting. Senator Kerry once referred to Yasser Arafat as a "role model" for peace. Yasser Arafat was responsible for the slaughtering of thousands of innocent muslims, christians, and  jews. John Kerry also once referred to the war on terrorism as a "nuisance", stating that he felt it should be treated as more of a police action than a series of military campaigns. Another reason John Kerry should not be secretary of state is the fact that he first voted to send troops into harms way, but then said of the war he voted for it was "the wrong war, at the wrong time, in the wrong place." If Senator Kerry can not take the way he voted in the United States Senate seriously, how can he take the responsibility of being the top diplomat in the free world seriously? Finally, Senator Kerry has insulted our soldiers in harms way; he once refereed to our soldiers as not being able to graduate college, and called them murders in Vietnam. As both of you know from personal experience, the men and women who serve our nation in uniform are smart, brave, and the best amongst us.

I hope that you consider blocking Senator Kerry's nomination, and that your colleagues join you. While Senator Kerry may be a nice person, his record in the U.S. Senate and public statements he has made about foreign policy make him a less than ideal candidate for Secretary of State. It is clear that in nominating Kerry, President Obama is paying the junior senator payback for allowing him to speak at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. The job of Secretary of State is too important for the President to be playing politics with.

Thank You for your service to our nation, and God Bless you and America!

Sincerely,

I think you will find Kerry served Vietnam more then he served "his nation".

I like the action, but asking two liberals to oppose a liberal is a stretch....

I wouildn't want Kerry to get that post either.  What other choices from the Dems does Obama have?  I'm just glad that Rice decided to stand down.  She got herself good and used and if she's smart at all, she'll distance herself from the WH as there could have been worse done to her.

Don't intend to make any of our lady posters mad but I just don't favor women in politics and the Obama/Rice/Benghazi event is just one example.  Clintoon/Monica was the worst for me until the benghazi incident.

I'd change the "served in Vietnam" part. Kerry made a name for himself by lying under oath, and selling out his fellow soldiers. Not a person we want representing our country.

McCain and Kerry are beat of friends. McCain wanted Kerry as his V.P. for his run on the White House, but he needed a boost in his poll numbers and he choose Palin.

Though McCain and Kerry served our country, now it's time for our country to serve both of them by retiring their "Yeas and Nays" in return for fishing poles.

What difference does it make?
I mean seriously, is there really a lib on the left capable, or let alone, qualified to represent the nation?

I appreciate all of your input. McCain and Graham are the GOP swing votes in my book. Other republicans are more likely to vote no on Kerry for state, McCain and Graham are swing votes. Furthermore, McCain and Graham would appreciate the fact I said Kerry served honorably. Kerry did indeed serve in Vietnam, the issue is his record bashing our troops, blaming america first, and a reckless record on foreign policy in the U.S. Senate.

  Yeah. We've reached a point where non of this matters for the next 4 years.  It really doesn't. They own the government and the Repubs lack the will to do what they could do.  We just have to ride out the storm for at LEAST 2 years and hope the people get a belly full by then and come to their senses.

I just hope no CONSERVATIVE Supreme Court Justice steps down until after 2016.  It's our last hope.

My opinion of Kerry is highly negative, but the foreign so-called policy is dictated from the WH and it won't make a huge difference who is at State.

People that make up stories to paint their fellow soldiers as rapists and murderers, have no place anywhere within the US government.
