Title: Mueller Case In serious Trouble
Post by: Solar on August 03, 2018, 10:06:55 AM
This judge isn't taking any shit. Ths could spell the end of his fraud investigation:thumbup:

The federal judge in the trial of ex-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort told Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team on Thursday they cannot prove a key part of their case unless prosecutors call Manafort's former business partner to the stand.

U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III issued the warning after prosecutors suggested Wednesday that Rick Gates – who is cooperating with prosecutors and had been considered a potential star witness – might not be called to the stand after all.

Referencing Gates, Ellis told prosecutors in court they "can't prove conspiracy without him."

"Not necessarily," Mueller prosecutor Greg Andres responded, before saying they still have "every intention" to call Gates to the stand.

Ellis, a 78-year-old Reagan-appointed judge known for colorful comments, also quipped that his "wife wasn't fooled" by the prosecution's comments on Wednesday leaving open the option of not calling Gates — suggesting he did not believe the prosecution was being serious about the possibility.

But the Mueller team was rebuffed by Ellis on Wednesday when it first tried to introduce photos of Manafort's closets, filled with suits and other high-end articles of clothing. Ellis noted that those photos would eventually become fodder for the media, and called them "unnecessary" for jurors to see.

"Enough is enough. We don't convict people because they have a lot of money and throw it around," he said.

As the kids say ........... dis gone be good.

Can't wait for the same collapse of the Flynn case and the case against all the russians ..... and the success of the russian case against these guys/dossier guys for slander.

It seems that Mueller and Weissman have never been in a no-cheat environment.  They're basically frozen and stunned, with no ability to cheat massively, without huge assistance from a friendly DOJ and friendly judges.

They've already cheated the hell out of Manafort, Flynn, and the russians, but now there's nobody to help keep it covered up; it's gonna come out under fair and open deliberations.

Judge Ellis Loses Patience with Mueller Prosecutors and Ends Court Early Over Screw-Up

Paul Manafort's third day on trial over charges of bank fraud and tax evasion was cut a bit short on Thursday after government attorneys made the same mistake twice in a row.

The last witness called to the stand was J. Philip Ayliff, a certified public accountant (CPA) at Paul Manafort's long-serving tax-preparation agency, Kositzka, Wicks and Co. (KWC), of Richmond, Virginia. As time inched along during the last witness's testimony, nothing of particular interest seemed to be occurring at all.

He's been around long enough to catch the tricksters.  Technically, the prosecution was attempting
to corrupt the jury instructions..  I guess we will hear what happened today, tomorrow..

Whats really funny, is if Mueller actually had evidence against him, he'd have led off with it, therefore, there is no case and the Judge knows it.

Bush, Obama, Clinton apparently.

Trump would appear to be a different day.

J. Philip Ayliff and other witnesses are the reason the Proscutors must call Gates to prove conspericy! Gates was the CFO and Maniford The CEO so all these witnesses work at Gates direction. they need gates to tie manoford to anything related to falsified documentation! If Gates doesn't have hard evidence connection Maniford directly to falsified reports this is really just a he said/ he said case! In most corperations The CEO is not directly involved in financial reports it is by definition the CFO's responcability!

They do not want to put Gates on the stand because the defence and this judge will tear him apart hurting their other case in a frendlier court! This trial is going to get very interesting!!

If Gates is discredited in this trial his testimony could be used to discredit him in the next

And send the DNC the Bill. It is, after all, only Dims on Mueller's team, the DNC/Dim party pushed this shit, so let them pay for their own mistakes.

The Judge has plenty of reason and sound legal basis to throw this case out of court....what the heck is he waiting for?

If I was Manafort I wouldn't want it Thrown out yet! Better to out right win and attempt to discredit the IC case. It may help him in the other case coming up!

I am hoping the judge is letting them hang themselves.
