Title: More China Panic
Post by: Solar on May 20, 2020, 09:23:16 AM
I swear, China doesn't know how to put out the fire they started as the world turns against them. And now they threaten the US?

China says Pompeo congratulating Taiwan president 'very dangerous'

China on Wednesday lambasted US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for sending a congratulatory message to Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on her inauguration, saying it was "extremely wrong, and it's also very dangerous".

Beijing views the island as part of its territory and has vowed to seize it by force if necessary.

"The US move... seriously interferes in China's internal affairs and seriously damages peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait," the defense ministry said in a statement.

Pompeo sent a message hailing Tsai for her "courage and vision in leading Taiwan's vibrant democracy" -- a rare direct message from a US official.

"It is extremely wrong, and it's also very dangerous," China's defense ministry said.

It warned that the People's Liberation Army had the "will, the confidence and the capability to defeat any form of external interference and the plot of 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces".

The statement said China would take "all necessary measures to firmly defend China's sovereignty and territorial integrity".

Tsai is loathed by Beijing because her party views Taiwan as a de facto sovereign state and not part of "one China".

In her inauguration speech, Tsai said China must find a way to live peacefully alongside a democratic Taiwan.

Since she first came to office in 2016, Beijing has rebuffed offers of talks and ramped up economic, military and diplomatic pressure on the island.

Exactly!  More than 50 companies reportedly pull production out of China due to trade war   https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/18/more-than-50-companies-reportedly-pull-production-out-of-china-due-to-trade-war.html

Keep in mind, this was just in 2018, and now with all the lies over CCP China flu, China's collapsing economy, more and more nations dropping trade with the commies, a class action suit, the world will focus on the evils of the CCP.
How does China rectify all this damage and corruption?

Admit they screwed up, but even then, it's too little too late, we are watching the beginning of the end of the CCP, and Marxism worldwide. Good God, Thank You President Trump!!!

BOOM! In Your Face Commies!

Taiwan President Begins Her Second Term by Rejecting CCP Rule

TAIPEI, Taiwan—President Tsai Ing-wen was inaugurated for her second term in office on May 20, telling Beijing that she will continue to engage in cross-strait talks but China's proposal of "one country, two systems" model is off the table.

"Here, I want to reiterate the words 'peace, parity, democracy, and dialogue.' We will not accept the Beijing authorities' use of 'one country, two systems' to downgrade Taiwan and undermine the cross-strait status quo. We stand fast by this principle," said Tsai in her inaugural speech.

The model is currently used in Hong Kong since the city's sovereignty was handed over from Britain to China in 1997, whereby Beijing promised to preserve freedoms not enjoyed in the mainland. However, the city has seen the encroaching influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in local politics and education.

An interesting take on China Us relations. The Chinese see war as an inevitably, but only because they see the world turning against them, all being lead by Trump.
This is article 5 in a series of 10 articles, each and everyone very long as is this one. Here's a snippet.
I give credit to the author for walking a tightrope and still finding a way to get information out without pissing off the CCP. So far.

The report warned that China's overseas investments, especially the ambitious Belt and Road Initiative, could fall victim to rising anti-Chinese sentiments, while the US may accelerate efforts to counter Beijing's expanding clout by increasing financial and military support for regional allies.
While the think tank declined to confirm the Reuters story, many international relations analysts shared similar bleak assessments of US-China relations.
"We are already in an all-around confrontation with the US, which sees both sides at odds on almost every front – from trade and tech tensions, military, ideological and geopolitical rivalry, to political and legal battles over the coronavirus," Zhu said. "The prospects for bilateral ties are deeply worrying and we are just one step away from a new cold war."

With much of the world still in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic, Beijing's critics and opponents, led by the US, have upped the ante in the blame-shifting game as they line up to pursue an international investigation into the origins of the deadly virus.
The coronavirus has also derailed most of China's diplomatic agenda for the first half of the year, with Xi's planned state visits to Japan and South Korea postponed.
Meanwhile, China's relations with the European Union have become more tense, though Beijing managed to dodge a bullet at this week's World Health Assembly, which adopted a mildly worded resolution drafted by the EU to carry out an independent inquiry into different countries' response to the outbreak at "an appropriate time".
But a growing number of European countries have pushed back against China's diplomatic assertiveness and followed Washington's lead to press Beijing for greater transparency over the coronavirus.

US to React Strongly If Beijing Moves Ahead with Hong Kong National Security Law: Trump

President Donald Trump said on May 21 the United States would react strongly if China follows through on plans to impose a new national security law on Hong Kong. Critics say the move would further erode the city's autonomy and allow the regime to crack down on dissident voices under the pretext of safeguarding security.

Zhang Yesui, spokesperson for the regime's rubber-stamp legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), announced on May 21 evening that the body will propose a bill to "establish and improve the legal system and enforcement mechanism for safeguarding the national security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region."

"If it happens, we'll address that issue very strongly," Trump told reporters Thursday before leaving the White House.

Further details of the law will be released on Friday, Zhang added. Hong Kong media outlets, citing insider sources, reported that the legislation would ban secession, terrorism, foreign interference, and other external interference that could pose threats to the regime's power. The measure could be headed for a formal vote next Thursday and take effect as early as August, local media reported.

The bill, which would allow the regime to bypass Hong Kong's legislature, is all but guaranteed to be passed, given the NPC's role as a ceremonial rubber-stamp that approves directives promulgated by the Chinese Communist Party.

Pro-democracy lawmakers and activists in Hong Kong condemned Beijing's latest move and pledged protest action.

"This is the end of Hong Kong," said local lawmaker Dennis Kwok at a press conference on Thursday night. "This is the end of 'One Country, Two Systems,'" he said, referring to the framework Beijing promised to rule Hong Kong upon the city's transfer of sovereignty from British to Chinese rule in 1997.

"Make no mistake about it—I foresee that the international status for Hong Kong as a city, an international city will be gone very soon," Kwok continued. "And that has all to do with Beijing's walking back and breaching its promise to the Hong Kong people."

Esper: US Watching China 'Very Carefully'

A Chinese Communist Party-run newspaper last week quoted a Chinese military expert saying training exercises "can turn into action any time" if Taiwanese officials try to secede from China.

Would such an attack would be an act of war?

"Look, we watch China very carefully. They should be cautious about they do. We regard any type of military action like that very gravely," Esper responded.

The top military official stressed later that America will "defend our allies."

Taiwan has seen broad support from the United States, including the establishment in 1979 of substantial relations between America and Taiwan.

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/military/article/3085662/taiwan-fire-missile-programme-tsai-puts-focus-asymmetric

QuoteTaiwan is expected to step up the development of missiles able to strike mainland China in the face of growing military threats by Beijing.
Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen vowed during her inaugural speech on Wednesday to bolster the self-ruled island's defences by emphasising the development of asymmetrical warfare, apparently foreseeing bumpy cross-strait ties in her next four years in office.
In asymmetrical warfare, one side uses non-traditional weapons against a more powerful enemy. Analysts said a boost to Taiwan's missile programme would mean the island could brace for the mainland's first advance before the United States came to its rescue.

China has absolutely no experience in warfare. It would be a 3 day routing of their forces and they'd be essentially landlocked after our having taken out their entire air capabilities.
And China is well aware of this and it scares the shit out of the CCP.

China troops crossing into India...

https://legalinsurrection.com/2020/05/chinese-troops-cross-into-india-fortify-positions/

QuoteThe border tensions between China and India have escalated once again, after hundreds of Chinese troops crossed into Indian territory. Soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) breached the Indian border at multiple locations in the northern Himalayan region of Ladakh, Indian media reports said on Saturday.

"Chinese had managed to come well inside the Indian territory and are also conducting aggressive patrols with motor boats in the Pangong lake," Indian broadcaster NDTV reported. "The Chinese troops crossed 3 km into what India perceives to be its territory South East of the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh," Indian news website The Print confirmed.

The Chinese detained several Indian soldiers during the incursion. "An Indian patrol party was detained and later released by Chinese forces," NDTV reported. The Indian military refused to comment on the incident.

EU's top diplomat urges 'more robust strategy' toward China

BERLIN (AP) — The European Union's top diplomat has called for the bloc to have a "more robust strategy" toward China amid signs that Asia is replacing the United States as the center of global power.

EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell told a gathering of German ambassadors on Monday that "analysts have long talked about the end of an American-led system and the arrival of an Asian century."

"This is now happening in front of our eyes," he said.

Borrell said the pandemic could be seen as a turning point in the power shift from West to East, and that for the EU the "pressure to choose sides is growing."

Talk about delusional! I guarantee you, if the EU backs the CCP over the US, they can kiss their exports to the US good bye. The US is turning its back on China as is the American consumer, and anything loaded with cheap Chinese shit, including chips in their cars, which would be seen as spying on Americans.

Keep this in mind when purchasing imports in the future. Ahh Hell, just buy American.

Meanwhile over in Europe they are drooling for Communist China to replace the United States as the center of global power.......

In my view the EU bureaucrats are  just a bunch of hopeful globalists. This is why GB is exiting. Also, the eastern European countries that were under Soviet control for fifty years are not about to embrace the CCP. How in God's name can anyone think the handling of the virus by the CPCPcould benefit them?

Now why would Taiwan need torpedoes? I guess they have subs, I never knew that.
CCP no happy, Trump piss off CCP, this good...

US to sell US$180 million worth of submarine-launched torpedoes to Taiwan

The United States is set to agree the sale of US$180 million worth of submarine-launched torpedoes to Taiwan, as the island's president, Tsai Ing-wen, vowed during her second inauguration ceremony to bolster its defences.
In a move likely to further inflame tensions between Beijing and Washington, the US Department of State said on Wednesday that it had approved the possible sale of 18 MK-48 Mod 6 Advanced Technology heavyweight torpedoes, which feature advanced sonar targeting for submarines, along with support equipment and related logistics support.

Beijing has objected to US arms sales to Taiwan in the past, saying they undermine its sovereignty and national security. It has also threatened to sanction US firms involved in selling them.

Relations between Beijing and Washington have steadily deteriorated in recent years, over a range of strategic issues, including trade, technology, ideology and clashing strategic interests around the globe.
Despite Beijing's protestations, Taiwan's unofficial ties with Washington deepened during Tsai's first term. In July, the US announced the sale of US$2.2 billion worth of battle tanks and surface-to-air missiles, and a month later pushed ahead with the US$8 billion sale of F-16 fighter jets.

Last week, Beijing urged Paris to cancel a deal with Taipei, reportedly worth about US$26.8 million, involving the sale of Dagaie MK2 decoy launchers to upgrade the missile interference systems of the six La Fayette frigates Taiwan bought from France in 1991.

Here's A List Of Professors And Researchers At American Colleges Who Secretly Worked For China

(https://images.dailycaller.com/image/width=1280,height=549,fit=cover,f=auto/https://cdn01.dailycaller.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/GettyImages-144311970-3-e1590778315420.jpg)

Throughout the last year, the Justice Department has been cracking down on Chinese government influence in the U.S., with a focus on college campuses, where many researchers and professors have been caught hiding their ties to the Chinese government, accepting funding from China, and selling secret information.

In 2020 alone, several professors were charged with fraud and lying about their ties with the Chinese government, sometimes while also accepting federal research funding from the U.S.

This Twitter thread from Cabot Phillips delineates some of the professors and other academics who were caught secretly aiding the Chinese government from U.S. campuses.

Professors around America have been caught selling secret research to the Chinese Communist Regime.

The national media won't cover it, so here's a thread of those who have been caught so far:

The first mention in the thread is University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) adjunct professor Yi-Chi Shih, who was convicted of charges including lying to a government agency and filling a false tax return, and conspiring to gain unauthorized access to information on a protected computer.

He "schemed to export to China semiconductors with military and civilian uses, then he lied about it to federal authorities and failed to report income generated by the scheme on his tax returns," according to the Justice Department.

Charles Lieber, the chair of Harvard's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, was charged with aiding the Chinese government and hiding his ties about accepting millions in funding in Jan. 2020. His involvement with the Chinese government included recruiting skilled individuals to the Thousand Talent Program, which in some cases has resulted in violations of U.S. law, such as espionage, theft of trade secrets, and grant fraud.

US and UK do an end-run after China blocks un security council meeting.
However, the U.S. said that China refused to allow the meeting to proceed, calling it "another example of the Chinese Communist Party's fear of transparency and international accountability for its actions, and belief that  it can exploit the current global health pandemic to distract the world from its intended assault on Hong Kong and abrogation of its own commitments to the Hong Kong people."

The U.S. and the U.K. then used a maneuver to get the item on the agenda by holding what's know as a "All Other Business" discussion to raise the law -- a move that cannot be blocked by another Security Council member.

China's Premier Admits to Serious Economic Crisis, With 600 Million People Earning $140 a Month

After this year's meetings of China's rubber-stamp legislature concluded, Premier Li Keqiang revealed at a press conference that roughly 600 million Chinese citizens only earn 1,000 yuan, or roughly $140, a month.

That is not enough to pay for monthly rent on a one-bedroom apartment in a mid-sized Chinese city.

Li also admitted that the country was facing an unemployment crisis as many people have lost their jobs amid the pandemic and the country's weakening economy.

He also admitted that millions continue to live in poverty, and do not have enough to eat. Furthermore, more people are struggling as a result of the pandemic, he said.

Pompeo was on Maria Bartiromos's show this morning. First, I am glad he always refers to China as the CCP. He said hew as talking with our European allies to sever their IT relations with the CCP and it is working. At the same time Trump is encouraging American companies to return to the USA with production. Now, would the CC like to retaliate? Yes, however, they have to buy food from us. Pitting it simply, the CCP is in trouble as Solar states.

China's main problem - except for their execrable political system of course - is that they really don't know how to negotiate. All they know how to do is bully. When they run into a country that can't be, or won't be, pushed around they're confused. And they don't realize their alienating all their neighbors. Their control of Tibet allows them to block all the rivers coming off the Tibetan plateau, this includes not only the rivers runing through China itself but also the rivers running through Southeast Asia) and South Asia. They're screwing with "rice bowls" of as many people as China has.

Beijing's plans for South China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone...ADIZ

Beijing's plans for South China Sea air defence identification zone cover Pratas, Paracel and Spratly islands, PLA source says
Plans for airspace controls over one of the world's most disputed waterways have been in the pipeline for a decade, military insider says
Despite military build-up in region, Beijing remains wary of upsetting US and Southeast Asian neighbours with announcement of ADIZ, experts say

Beijing has been making plans for an air defence identification zone (ADIZ) in the South China Sea since 2010, the same year it said it was considering the introduction of similar airspace controls over the East China Sea in a move that was widely criticised around the world, a military insider said.

The proposed ADIZ encompasses the Pratas, Paracel and Spratly island chains in the disputed waterway, according to a source from the People's Liberation Army, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The plans for the zone were as old as those for the East China Sea ADIZ – which Beijing said it was considering in 2010 and introduced in 2013 – the source said, adding that Chinese authorities were waiting for the right time to announce them.
While Beijing might have been reticent on the subject, Taiwan's defence ministry said on May 4 that it was aware of the mainland's plans.

I love the Epoch Times, the most honest source in media today.

CHINESE Yuan Registers Lowest Value in History

Compared to a basket of other currencies, the Chinese Yuan is falling fast. It has been dropping for a record 16 days straight, the longest run since the currency basket was created 5 years ago. It has now fallen 4 percent against the Euro and Australian dollar. The yuan has also been falling against the dollar but has stopped recently.

In late May, rising tensions with the U.S. contributed to the yuan falling to near its lowest level since 2008's financial crisis and factors such as the Hong Kong protests and the US-China trade deal could increase the value of the American dollar again, pushing the yuan even lower. If the Chinese Yuan continues to fall, it would put a major strain on China's entire economy.

Chinese international trade is also weakening. In May, exports fell to about 3 percent and imports plummeted almost 17 percent compared to last year. This is the biggest drop in 4 years. A large portion of China's workforce is in the export industry, but the majority of the international orders were canceled during the pandemic. Official data shows the profits of China's industrial firms fell almost 30 percent between January and April.

The United States has approved an arms deal with Taiwan — the second time in three months — as tension over the Taiwan Strait heats up.

The State Department announced on Thursday that it has given the green-light for the sale of US$620 million (HK$4.8 billion) in components and services to upgrade the self-ruled island's Patriot air defense missile system.

The department said the sale would extend the operational life of the missiles for another 30 years, naming Maryland-based Lockheed Martin as the contractor.

Taiwan's Defense Ministry welcomed the approval, adding that it was much needed to improve its defense capability.

Beijing-backed Global Times condemned the sale. It cited an expert as saying that the move was more "symbolic" than providing a meaningful boost to Taiwan's military.

"At the moment, the Chinese People Liberation Army's conventional missiles can be used for mobile operations, and their launch preparation time is very short, meaning the PAC-3 could not react in time. Considering their success rate of launch and limitations to interception, there is a much more symbolic meaning to the arms sales, rather than actual military value," Yang Chengjun was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, tension remains high across the Taiwan Strait after reports that two Chinese bombers bombers deviated from their route on June 28 and approached Taiwan's airspace via the Miyako Strait, before returning to their original path.
