Midterm Elections Blue Wave Looking Doubtful, Says CBS News Head Pollster

The CBS News head pollster has some information for Democrats expecting a Blue Wave to take over the House and more in November's midterm elections: It's not looking good.

In Where Did You Get That Number?, a new book out Tuesday from Simon & Schuster, author Anthony Salvanto, the CBS pollster, explains his methodology for tracking the 2016 presidential election, considered one of the biggest upsets in electoral history, and how those lessons apply for the coming season.

Studying the exit polls in 2016 for CBS News coverage of the presidential election, Salvanto saw what was happening – Hillary Clinton was losing ground, and voters who hadn't cast ballots were not likely to vote for her.  Salvanto delivered his verdict to the networks anchors and producers: "This is a contested race."

"Remember, in a midterm, you have to watch each congressional seat — don't pay attention to national numbers."

The CBS News Battleground Tracker has a panel of 5,700 registered voters, with the majority in the districts that are highly contested. That poll indicates that few House seats will change parties in November, with the GOP likely holding its majority in the House.

If anyone needed proof the dim party was dead, this coming from cbs should prove it.

And the day after the election democrats will say, "What happened?". Proving once again they are not fast learners and continue their denial about reality.

Funny thing one of the most important races coming down no one ever hears about. Bill Nelson in Florida is in the race of his life against our Governor Rick Scott! RCP polling average shows Scott with a 1.2% edge but only because of 2 older polls from mid July and June holding down the average. Scott is really kicking ass but you never hear the national news even bring this race up!

A hot statewide election with a real chance of unseating Nelson is a major incentive for Republican Turn out in the Mid Terms. So If Scott wins The state will also maintain the republicans on the Down ticket including the Congressional seats!

That outcome would shock democrats even though Nelson is just a hack.

Rick Scott has a real shot at unseating Nelson. He has been a very popular governor and won state wide elections twice in the past. he is also very wealthy and doesn't mind funding his own campaign as he has done in the past. Nelson last week claimed "The Russians" have hacked Florida's election system In an attempt to explain his poor showing in the polls. When the governor and out Secretary of state that oversee the election called him out on it and said they have received no info on that from the Dept. of homeland security Nelson claimed his source was classified!!
People down here are tired of him. I Think he is going down!!

Scott is not as Conservative as I would like but he is the best shot at taking out nelson and he is on board the Trump agenda. By all means will be a major improvement over Nelson who is the real Swamp Dweller in this race!!

Let's not compliment Nelson by labeling him a RINO. He is a pure political democrat hack.

"I'd love to see the Senate go blue. It looks like a very hard task because the geography is against us," Schumer told host John Catsimatidis. "There are 25 Democrats up for reelection [and] eight Republicans. And many of the Democrats come from states where Donald Trump won by more than 20 points. But recently there's been a move to Democrats."

Heard Rush say today that the dems are nationalizing issues and people, just the opposite of what's supposed to be their thing - localized victims, special interests, local anger and hate, identity politics.  That sounds like a brilliant thing for them to do.
