Anyone see how 2016 is lining up to be a Conservative movement?

With the Senate focused on the 2016 budget, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) has proposed an amendment that would ban federally mandated gun control.

Lee's amendment would ban any future gun control from lawmakers that fails to garner "two-thirds of senators" in support. It would also ban regulations issued by agencies like the ATF.

According to The Hill, Senators David Ritter (R-La) and James Inhofe (R-Okla) have also introduced their own amendment. More narrowly drawn, theirs focuses on the ATF by prohibiting that agency from "attempting to ban bullets that are primarily used by hunters and sportsmen."

Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn) and Steven Daines (R-Mont) are also putting forth an amendment to protect antique guns that have ivory handles.

This pro-gun push comes only weeks after the ATF dropped its efforts to ban the M855 round for AR-15 rifles. Breitbart News previously reported that the ban was being pushed under the guise of eliminating an "armor piercing" round, but the ATF's standard for ascertaining "armor piercing" was–at best–ambiguous, and–at worst–so low as to open the door to a ban on almost all centerfire hunting rounds.

They're looking like they're 8 steps to the left of Marx.  They have to go hard right just to look moderate.

What a great movement. If it can pass the senate the states would ratify it quickly and lib heads would explode. It would be fun watching them during the process.

You'd be correct, which is why I expect to see the entire GOP move Right...grudgingly, just to stay relevant.

Even more fun, will be watching the media try and explain why the nation is moving hard Right at a staggering pace.
If the media was smart, they'd try and get out ahead of the inevitable and act as if it was expected, so as not to look like fools with egg on their face for burying all the leftists scandals the way they do.

I'm all for it.  Senator Lee gets back under my umbrella again.  And the timing for the amendment seems right.  Plus, rifles and shotguns don't have 'ivory handles'.

I think the movement to protect gun owners with antique guns comes from crap like this:

http://www.nj.com/cumberland/index.ssf/2015/02/suspicious_activity_in_drug_area_led_to_antique_gu.html

Ultimately this case was dropped. But only after an arrest, seizure of the mans property by the governent, and some time spent in a holding cell while awaiting court etc.....no biggie right?

Wrong, the intent of the second and fourth amendments were violated.....And all because of stupid anti-gun laws imposed upon us by people who don't get that guns are a tool, they don't kill people.

People USING guns, kill people.
