So do you all REALLY believe that it's just been in the last two years that the economy has gone to hell?

C'mon now, let's inject some INTELLECTUAL HONESTY into this topic.  There is PLENTY of blame to go around, and certainly the Obamanistas have been VERY destructive to our economy, but Bush and Clinton also have to be held accountable in this conversation.

It was BUSH who appointed Bernanke, by the way.  It was BUSH who started the bailouts, by the way.  It was Clinton and Bush who turned their heads while Wall Street speculators and carpetbaggers went wild, investment bankers created all sorts of sleazy investment "opportunities" for unsuspecting investors, and lenders created a huge housing bubble that was doomed to fail and burst.

To be honest AF...I didnt think we needed to revisit history...I assumed it was a given that bush and the rest spent their brains out also we all talked about bush being a spend freak 2  yrs ago ...but it is two years later and now in my mind it all belongs to obama and company

Did I say that?
The middle class moved up and the poor moved to the middle class under Reagan, more than under any president in history.
More middle class have fallen to the ranks of the poor, under Husein.
Care to dispute that?

Did I say Bush and the RINO played no part? Of course not, what in the Hell do you think I am, some dumb shit?

Once again, another example of intellectual dishonesty.  This sort of "logic" is the same thing I read and heard from the Bill Clinton lovers when Bush was a couple of years into his first term.

"Why are you blaming Clinton for anything?  Bush has been President for a couple of years now, and what Clinton did doesn't matter anymore."

Take a look at the BIG PICTURE, not the two-year Obama snapshot.

You claim I'm being intellectually dishonest, I say you just ignorant.

Did Bush give us TARP, you bet, but after that, this entire mess is Husein's, he had every chance to step out of the way and let the free mkt fix the problem, yet he pulled bailout after bailout, took over half the free mkt and sent the economy into a nose dive.

Yes, this is Husein's economy, the worst since the depression, and it didn't have to happen.

I'm ignorant, Solar?   :)) :)) :)) :)) :))

I'm not sure if you have long-term memory loss, or you are just blinded by your partisanship.

Go ahead and focus on Obama.  You won't get any disagreement from me as to how the son-of-a-bitch has brought this country to the brink of destruction.  What we disagree about is the LONG path that brought us to where we are today.

I'm not going to waste my time talking about all of the financial hanky-panky that occurred on Bush's watch, and on Clinton's watch.  I believe it was Dan who explained a lot of that in here several weeks ago.

Pointing fingers and assigning blame is usually a game reserved for left wingnuts.  It solves NOTHING.  Ignoring  what was going on in this country prior to January of 2009 is dishonest and blatantly partisan, and it also solves NOTHING.  It just brings into question the intellectual honesty and integrity of those who are engaging in these activities.

Then there is no disagreement.
My only point of contention, is that all the BS that the RINO did during the last four years of the Bush administration, was merely a hole in the boat that is USA, Husein comes along and did everything possible to make that hole a crater.

Though, it is because of what the RINO and Husein did, that has slapped the American public awake, if anything good has come out of it, that was it.

Maybe we are all being a bit "narrow-minded" by assigning all the blame to Obama and Bush and Clinton.  None of these Presidents were "privy" to all of the financial hanky-panky that occurred on their watches.  All of these Presidents had their own political agendas, and they all had people they had to answer to, mostly those who made the largest campaign contributions.

The Federal Reserve, Wall Street, investment banks, mutual fund managers, mortgage brokers, and all other financial entities in this country, are absolutely complicit in what has happened to our economy.  The SEC, in particular, spent the last couple of decades asleep at the wheel, and the non-regulatory anything-goes environment created many monsters.

It would be nice to find one president that was not beholding to someone or some group... :( :(

Most likely you would find him living sometime before Abe Lincoln.
