I am starting this thread because we are just five weeks from the mid terms. We can use this thread to keep us informed as to what you all are seeing locally as we approach November 4. I have noticed here in NC the big money and knives are all out against Thom Tillis in his senate race with Kay Hagan. The ads are very negative and all about the old class warfare theme. What is anybody else seeing?

I'm afraid to look.  I live in California.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Hey, the same negative ads are out there about Nikki Haley.  The liberals are certainly doing their thing.  It's always been quite a challenge for anyone to run against the "good ole' boys" here in SC.  BTW, I'm seeing all the negative crap about Tillis.  Guess you are close enough to my area for me to pick up these ads on my tv channels.  Good grief, some slug even tried to have Nikki going with somebody during her campaign(She's happily married then and now).  See?  One thing that SC voters will treat badly is flawed character but we couldn't be convinced of that about her and she was fighting mad over it but it didn't stop her and we've heard nothing else about the "so-called" affair.  One ad features a former disgruntled DSS employee and she is saying that she just couldn't continue working for someone who didn't have SC children's best interests at heart.  Don't guess so because her but got canned for failure to report incidents of TB in one of our schools.

Nikki has brought enough jobs to our state to take it off the list of states with unfavorable welfare status.

We are both in the Asheville, Greenville, Spartanburg TV market so there is bleed over for NC/SC races. The dems learned four years ago that the "affair" lie would not sell. It is the same old dem playbook that the GOP is at war with the children.

Yep, libs, progressives, MUSLIMS and "TERRISTS" don't mind trotting the children out in harms way to score points on their agendas.  Libs always feign compassion towards what the public sees as error on the part of govt and they've got the answer to all of it.  Trouble is, their responses usually amount to enslavement for the rest of us.

Same here in Illinois!

We have ONE possible ray of hope.  That would be getting rid of Governor Pat Quinn (D).  However, I think Dick Durbin is a lock to go back to the Senate.

I live in Florida.  The Republican incumbent governor is up against a former Republican governor, turned Independent, now turned Democrat!  The race has gotten very ugly, with the promise that the Democrats (with the financial help of a major law firm) will legalize marijuana.

Polls run by the MSM show that the DEMS are ahead and the Libertarian candidate has been on conservative radio shows and is gaining some ground.

"I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed..."I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution..."

I just don't get it how the good folks of FL could vote for a slime ball like Criss. He is the ultimate "put my finger in the wind" politician with only one principle - take any position to win. Hopefully the legislature will remain GOP if he wins.

Criss is firmly in the class of Willie Brown, Nagin, Marion Barry.  The worst this world has to offer.

But yet he can get elected through the most disgusting of ways.

In northern Ohio, the talk is about the State's early voting shenanigans, which the Ohio Supreme Court shot-down before the weekend.

I get the impression that Dems wanted voting to begin earlier and earlier because the Party's approval-numbers keep dropping and dropping.

The Court cited October 7th as the first day of 'early' voting, which even seems too soon.

A huge, vast amount of Ohio-voters are leaving the State by early November?  Ridiculous.

I don't trust the so-called early-ballots just sitting there, piling-up on somebody's desk.  Because there's no law that I know-of that prevents the ballots from being 'previewed'.  -Leaving weeks of time to concoct political-ploys based on what the early results are showing.  As well as opportunities for media-collusion.

IN NC we shortened the early voting season for this election. The dems are screaming. Nuff said.

Here in CO the battle between Udall and Gardner in a real dogfight. While Gardner has narrowed the gap, the Udall attack ads might have a huge impact on the women voters since they center on some vague bill that Gardner sponsored. Gardner OTOH has focused on Udall's failure in the senate, and his cover up of the 250M people who were dropped from Obozocare.

There is another battle going on between Romanoff and Coffman for a seat in the House. This happens to be in my district and I'll be voting for Coffman. Romanoff is a liar, sleaze and a died in the wool socialist!

Hickenlooper vs Beauprez for Gov. Hick is a rat and gleefully signed legislation that banned 30 round magazines and placed numerous restrictions on gun owners.

The common theme here is that the democrats and socialists/Marxists/commies (take your pick) that are out to take away your freedoms. Think of what Obozo has done in the times he's been in office, then ask yourself why in the world would I vote for a democrat?

Sounds like the dem strategy is go totally negative countrywide. I understand as they have nothing to run on that they have done.

Ohio's election apparatus is firmly in the grip of the big-city Dems. Still lots of districts, especially in metro Cleveland, that "voted" 100% Kenyan two years ago, and many districts scattered among the larger cities where there are more "registered" voters than there are even residents of the proper age.

When it comes to GOTV efforts, Dems have long held a huge advantage, and Ohio's ridiculously long and lax voting period was specifically designed to take advantage of that fact, and one other -- the other specialty of Democrats is vote fraud. Pioneered by legendary masters of the art like Huey Long in Louisiana, Richard J. Daley in Chicago, and Boss Tweed in NYC, the Democrat tradition of voting "early and often" is part of the very fabric of the party. No matter what the claims to the contrary, there really is only one reason to oppose election reforms -- they make it harder to cheat. It is no accident that those who oppose election reforms are ALWAYS Democrats.

Even with the recent SCOTUS ruling, Ohio still has four friggin' weeks for its citizens to cast their votes. Compare that to the 13 hours offered to voters in nearby New York.

All pointing to every chance possible for voter fraud to take place.  If elections take place they ought to be at least fairly administered.  What's fair about it the way it stands?  Any wonder why some folks think voting is a waste of their time since the outcomes are manufactured and for the most part-predictable?
