I really liked the piece - thanks for pointing to it Taxed. I haven't heard that perspective on the LSM or other media outlets. The LSM is just dishonest / biased so I get why they miss it. But not sure why more conservative outlets haven't brought up these other facets - they just drone on with the same few talking points - so little depth.

I do wish all sports would stop stealing / extorting tax funds to build stadiums. A nice park would be fine with me if they don't want to pay for their stadiums.

Sports is just an amusement and the NFL is making their product less amusing. So me and others will just go find something else to amuse ourselves with when we want to "get away". Something else to take a Sunday afternoon nap to. PGA or a dry book works fine too - no big deal.

That site is one of the very few willing to tell you the truth. Check it out, there are tons of articles on there with the conservative perspective, or rather, a willingness to show the reality of a given issue.

Q PATRIOT!!!

I hope the filth liberals will apply thier happiness with NFL players being  political in the workplace to all work places so I can tell everyone at work how great Trump is.

She's right. We subsidize them and they shove their twisted beliefs down our throats.

Bottom line - you can express your beliefs however you want. But it may have consequences. If you decide to diss patriotism to make a point then the coach / team may decide they don't want your disruption their sports program. That's how freedom of speech is supposed to work - you are free to express yourself and the organizations are free to run their businesses.

But does it work that way?

- If an NFL player takes a stand then a coach could let him go. But then the libs would jump his back, e.g., Kapernick. Yes, players have the right to protest the national anthem. It might hurt revenues, but there's nothing an NFL owner can do under the constitution except decide to keep or fire the player. But here's the catch 22. The NFL unions would get involved and lock the whole industry up. That's one thing that the NFL is afraid of.  Checkmate.

- Most college teams don't come onto the field until after the national anthem. The coaches, players, and sport doesn't have to deal with the political imposition.

- High school teams are on the field during the national anthem. Most kids just line up and honor their country. But some have chosen to protest - following the example of some NFL players. In my day, my coach would have kicked my butt if I protested - didn't honor the country with the team. But times are different now. I'm sure that if a coach took a stand in a liberal area / liberal school / most public schools, that there would be some libs that would pressure the school and the coach would get run out of a job. Checkmate.

So freedom of speech only works one way - players can protest but the guys running the organizations can't take action for fear of retaliation by pseudo-constituents. So why not just keep the NFL teams in the locker room until after the national anthem? Problem solved. It removes the politics from the situation.

I have to say the whole conversation is pretty stupid - can't believe so much time is wasted on this topic. The interesting aspect is seeing how, in this localized sandbox topic, the libs bring pressure to get their way as they work against the very freedoms they pretend to support when it doesn't work to their agenda. All of the protests started with the Black Lies Matter protests and now most don't even know why there is a protest.

Sure wish Trump would quit giving it any attention via tweets. It doesn't occupy much of his time but keeps fueling the libs engines. Seems pretty obvious -  why can't he see it? I'm sure his advisers have talked to him many times. It's just another vein of distraction from the libs - the current administration is experiencing this obstructionist attack strategy on steroids - keeping everything off balance to keep more critical objectives from being progressed.

My question is this: Out of all these kneeling neanderthals how many of them could coherently debate their position?

Likely none. My question is this: Out of all these hulking snowflakes yearning to break the shackles of oppressive white patriarchy, and all that stuff, which one would you pay $465,000 a year? Some of those assholes are making tens of millions per annum, but the absolute worst paid on the entire roster are guaranteed $465K. For playing a kid's game with a funny-shaped ball for a couple months. Or rather, for sitting on a bench watching the other assholes play.

It's good work if you can get it, I suppose.
