Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., admitted Sunday he is more interested in justice than politics.

"I enjoy the justice system more — I enjoy being fair," Gowdy told CBS's "Face the Nation." "I enjoy the pursuit of fairness as a virtue, and I'm just more comfortable in that system.

"I was a pretty good prosecutor, I think, but I've been a pretty lousy politician. . . . Whatever time I've got left, I want to spend it in the justice system because that's where my heart is."

Gowdy was "pretty integrally involved in the drafting" of the memo the White House released Friday, standing in "100 percent" support of FBI special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into 2016 election meddling by Russia while additionally wanting the public to know of FBI abuses of a FISA warrant to surveil an administration's political opposition.

"The end does not justify the means. And in politics, it's just about winning. And I can't – I don't want to – live like that."

"You know, we're not through with the investigation, so I'm not going to prejudge the outcome of it," Gowdy said, after rebuking the fact California Democratic Rep. "Adam Schiff prejudged this investigation before he interviewed the first witness."

"I have seen no evidence of collusion between President Trump and the Russians or his campaign and the Russians."

To his great credit, Gowdy appears to know himself, which is far more than the rest of the political jackasses in DC do, while  masquerading as statesmen,

His reputation is pretty straight up. That being the case one can understand feeling tainted by being around all the sleaze balls in Congress. Probably looking forward to good, long, hot shower.
