Happy camper here, ST bought me a toy, something I haven't had happen since I was a kid, generally everything I got in the past was practical, from car parts to tools, but this time....

She bought me XBox live bundled with Halo 4, damn it looks excellent, but the learning curve (solely because I'm not used to a game controller) is a real bitch!
Now my brother can come over and play on those snowed in days.

I got ST a wand scanner so she can scan all the crap she sees on the road, instead of buying the magazine for one recipe, or tearing it out of someone else' copy.
I also got her the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Sheetfed Scanner which scans everything from business cards, receipts and photos, to both side of pages of text.
Now we can get rid of all that paper stacked around the house.
I know, sounds boring, but she loves this kind of thing.....

Oh and I got her a ton of heavy wool socks and a snuggie, as seen on TV , she has a thing about keeping warm when it's in the single digits, I just don't get it.

Merry Christmas everyone.  I hope the joy of Christmas has touched you all.  We will be heading down to the kids soon for a couple of hours.

Solar forgot to mention the really cool Label maker he gave to too.  Probably because he was forced into giving it to me a week early because he was afraid I was going to go buy one myself.

I also got Solar a special mattress pad and pillow so he can sleep cooler, a new bath robe and slippers, and a new pair of Winter boots.

This says it all.

Stopped by the lib forum (Blueridgedebate), guest of course, and while I did not do a complete search the only reference to Christmas was in a thread titled Christmas for Atheist, imagine that.  At least one poster used "Christmas" while the others mainly used 'Holidays".

That crowd doesn't even take a break from their anti everything ideology during this special time of the year.  Maybe Santa brought them a new brain for Christmas.

Welcome to the forum Reality.
Yes it is sad that the left seems Hell bent on destroying the American culture, a culture that has produced an infinite number of inventions for the the advancement of humanity.

My Personal Observation prior to Christmas

I live out next to a Forest so don't see people every day or even week.

When I went to Town the week or two before Christmas there were 10 times as many people saying "Merry Christmas" compared to last year.

What do I attribute  that to?

People hoping to have a really nice Christmas as there was nothing else that provided anything promising or good to look forward to.

Same here, and I noticed the difference as well, You may be correct in your conclusion, but I wonder if a lot of it has to do with losing freedom of tradition?
Regardless of what the left and it's voice the media purports, people don't like what they see happening to our culture, people just like me, I am not a Christian, but I'll fight to keep their faith front and center in the country.
It is their faith that built this country and made it a beacon for freedom in the world, and I'l be damned if I'll let a bunch of commies destroy that!

"REALITY" is, the libs don't like themselves.  Why spoil a perfectly good Christmas with the likes of them?  BTW, glad to see you here on this forum. Stay here awhile and you'll forget all of that hate stuff the libs have to keep going.

I also posted on the BR board. I still lok at it and participation is down as some of the more active cons quit posting. It is still a rehash, but there are not as many cons to disparage now. Libs are so predictable.

As an atheist, I concur!

(Please note that not all of us atheists are rabid anti-religious types. I have no problem with wishing people a Merry Christmas - I even to it myself!)

You're a perfect example of my point.
To some, I'm considered an atheist because I don't prescribe to their Religion/belief system, but they aren't out demanding I follow their rules of belief or their god, and because it is their belief and tradition that created this country, I will fight to the death to protect and promote their right to Freedom of Religion, and Freedom from Govt.

This is what libs simply don't understand, they think there is some clause called separation of church and state, when no such thing exists, but they've been brainwashed into believing one exists, so they think they are being Patriots by stifling Religion in schools and Govt institutions.
When in truth, they are merely pawns in promoting a Marxist movement...
