Two thoughts here. One, this could force an entire investigation into Dim corruption.
Two, McCon might see it as a way of finally getting rid of Trump. Thoughts?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday shut down an option floated by some Republicans to quickly dismiss articles of impeachment against President Trump, saying he fully expects the matter to go to trial in the Senate.

"I don't think there's any question that we have to take up the matter. The rules of impeachment are very clear, we'll have to have a trial," McConnell said as the first public impeachment hearing was underway before the House Intelligence Committee.

"My own view is that we should give people the opportunity to put the case on," he added.

"On the issue of how long it goes on, it's really kind of up to the Senate. People will have to conclude are they learning something new? At some point we'll get to an end," the Kentucky Republican said.

McConnell has previously said he expects the House to quickly send over articles of impeachment that the Senate will then take up.

"Under the impeachment rules of the Senate, we'll take the matter up," the Senate majority leader said. "We intend to do our constitutional responsibility."https://www.nationalreview.com/news/mcconnell-shuts-down-early-dismissal-option-for-impeachment-articles-says-senate-will-have-to-have-a-trial/

I heard that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court could dismiss it. It doesn't look like McConnell is for that option

What's really odd is that the American people are no doubt confused (I more/less am) about the procedure for impeachment. It looks to me like there are no rules, as there are  in criminal/civil courtrooms...

looks like the system needs to be re-done so it is more American

He should do exactly that in 2025. I so not see when being required in the Constitution.

It would be a way to get shiff and the wistleblower on the witness stand.?? Don't know, if McConnell comes out and says he will throw it out without a trail, he would give the dims an out, they could still claim Trump is guilty but that they will not have a vote because it is rigged and all the reps are corrupt??? I'm just acting like a lib here, throwing shiff against the wall to see what could stick. Personally, the dims have carried this little game this far, they need to vote for all to see on impeachment. If it is to get called off, they need to vote it down, otherwise lets get all the crooks on the witness stand for the whole world to see. They have no case but they have shown this is how they are going to act from now on, from scotus confirming to protesting elections, the reps need to take them on and expose it.

This is an interesting take for sure. I could see McConnell doing that. Of course, this all contingent on the house voting on it.

After yesterday's impeachment hearings if the democrats with law degrees vote to to impeach they should be disbarred.

I watched word for word and even the democrats came right out in the hearing stating and I quote "Hearsay can be much better evidence than direct ... and it's certainly valid in this instance."-Democrat Rep. Mike Quigley (IL)

Also when Hollywood is dead silent....sorry man I think you lost the narrative.

Incredible Rep Quigley would say something of the sort. They should be disbarred. I wanted the hearings myself, and could find not a single thing on it, so basically a conformation of what is already blatantly obvious. What shocked me most of all, is how Schiff denies even knowing who the whistleblower was. God forbid impeachment goes through in the house, I can only hope McConnell has the decency to bring forth this whistleblower and expose him for the true hack he is.

Here is my opinion.....I believe Schiff or better yet Piglosi will NOT have a vote on impeachment. They will let this hearsay run rampart and tell the world, see we told you so. Now if I'm wrong, which I think I'm batting 250, If McConnell DOESN'T bring in the spy Eric Ciaramella to testify then McConnell just confirmed that the United States of America does have a two tier system and he should personally rip the blindfold off of Lady Justice.
