Title: Massachusetts city council to vote on Trump impeachment resolution
Post by: Ms.Independence on April 03, 2017, 05:15:22 AM
Obviously a city council in MA voting to impeach Trump is purely symbolic as the article suggests, but how can Trump's lawyers say that every conflict of interest have been cleared up when it sure seems he is breaking nepotism laws by hiring his son-in-law and his daughter?

Massachusetts city council to vote on Trump impeachment resolution

A Massachusetts city is joining a handful of other municipalities across the country in calling for an impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump, based on alleged conflicts of interest.

Cambridge City Council is slated to vote Monday on a resolution calling for the U.S. House of Representatives to begin such an investigation.

The resolution -- which is largely symbolic -- follows similar calls to action by other city councils, including Richmond, Virginia; Berkeley, California; and Alameda, California.

But as ABC News previously reported, in a resignation letter dated Jan. 19 -- the day before his inauguration -- Trump wrote, "I, Donald Trump, hereby resign from each and every office and position I hold in the entities listed." More than 400 entities were listed in the 19-page document.
Trump's lawyers have also previously said that all potential conflicts of interest have been ironed out.

The resolution is being sponsored by Cambridge vice mayor Marc McGovern, councilor Jan Devereux and councilor Leland Cheung, according to the policy order posted on the city's website.

The resolution states, "That the City Council call upon the United States House of Representatives to support a resolution authorizing and directing the House Committee on the Judiciary to investigate whether sufficient grounds exist for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, including but not limited to the violations of the Foreign Emoluments Clause and the Domestic Emoluments Clause of the United States Constitution." ...

Had this Been a TEA challenge to their enlightened Marxist, Yahoo would see to it, it never saw the light of day as a news article.

Perhaps because there was no reason to impeach Obama and only a lunatic would advocate it and most who did argued he was not a citizen mainly because they were mad there was a black president?

Also, you continue to use the word Marxist incorrectly.  To refer to Obama as a marxist is absolutely idiotic, completely misses the point of his 8 years and fundamentally does not understand American politics.  You also dont understand the difference between socialism and communism and marxism.

I will repeat something you refuse to respond to.  The ACA was written by the health care industry's private lawyers.

To call that Marxism, is beyond idiotic.

Hmm. I was hoping you would come back. But would have thought a little more about how to discuss the issues in a more profound manner. You restate the same points over and over again. And you're still shot-gunning over many issues at once that you take exception with. And the whole "I Won" thing has gotten old. Some played along for awhile, but it's not helpful.

Step back Blake. You have a lot of perspectives / beliefs that most your age don't have and I admire that. But admit that you also have a lot to learn from other contexts and experiences. Admit where you are searching for input.

What is your age? There's a natural rate at which experience moves into the bones of any of us. You do seem ahead of your time but also of your time. You seem to discount much of our Republic foundation. Knowing your age will help us all. It's not like I'm asking for your tax return!

My guess was 25 - recently out of college. So that's pretty close. That's such a great part of life. Try to be patient and prioritize where you spend your time ... in general and on the forum.

I'm 57 and grew up in the midwest - eventually finished H.S. in Colorado. I've spent a lot of time in my life studying: Engineering in the 80's, graduate school for engineering in the 90's, graduate mathematics in the 2000's. All along while working and raising three girls. I have grandkids now. Marriage and children had a way of teaching me humility like no other life lesson. Rounded off some of the sharp edges. I have a very patient wife whom I'm very grateful for - after 36 years, we still like each other.

What's your background?

Remember turning 21 and thinking you're an adult, then you go to bars and find out you're a kid once again?
Then you turn 27 and hit the bars again, only to discover you no longer fit in with the kids...
This is the place we've all been in, all your friends have a purpose, whether it's opening new businesses or raising families or exploring the planet, they have a goal.
Blake is without cause, career or wisdom and it's driving him nuts. But why he comes to a forum where people know what and who they are is beyond reason, and then try and claim he understands life and politics makes one wonder if he is some sort of perverted masochist who enjoys public humiliation...

He is obviously a product of the liberal educational system.  He comes across to me that because he has a degree it affords him a step above the rest and puts him on a pedestal.  It seems you are correct, Blake doesn't know who is he, nor does he have a purpose or wisdom that only comes with age and experience.

I did find his posts entertaining at first, now I find them bordering on annoying; quite frankly most of what he states is b.s. and doesn't hold water.
