Supreme Court sides with Colorado baker who refused to make wedding cake for same-sex couple

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/06/04/supreme-court-sides-with-colorado-baker-who-refused-to-make-wedding-cake-for-same-sex-couple.html

QuoteThe Supreme Court ruled Monday in favor of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, in one of the most closely watched cases of the term.

In a 7-2 decision, the justices set aside a Colorado court ruling against the baker -- while stopping short of deciding the broader issue of whether a business can refuse to serve gay and lesbian people.

A 7 to 2 decision? Color me shocked!

I too was surprised by the decision and equally surprised that Breyer and Hagan voted with the majority. However, leave it to the liberal MSM to try and put a different spin on the vote. Just click the link and look at the headline.

Since when is a 7-2 Supreme Court vote a "narrow" decision?

Every now and then Kagan or Sotomeyor or Ginsburg will blow your mind by voting rationally, and not lock-step with communism.  Breyer's in the squishy middle with Kennedy.  Man, I didn't realize that Breyer's just about as old as Kennedy and Ginsburg.  Trump may replace them all, lol, imagine if he gets 4.  The left will start a jihad.

"Narrow 7-2" and their endless lying is all the commercials we need in 2018 and 2020.  Just play their own words, or dramatic readings of their words.......... and follow with "is this really what you want in power ?"

A 7-2 decision is not a "narrow" decision, as mainstream media is making it out to be.  A "narrow" decision would be when there is only one vote difference.  When there is a 5 vote difference, as in this case, the Supreme Court is making a definitive decision.

This Supreme Court decision slaps down the circuit court of appeals hard for ruling against the baker, admonishing the lower court by stating they lacked tolerance and had "undue disrespect to sincere religious beliefs."

So now the anti-American media is attempting to claim that it was a close, or "narrow," decision in order to further delude themselves and make themselves "feel" better after such a huge loss to their anti-Christian agenda.

Hey, I'm happy for these idiots to keep believing and claiming whatever keeps them from running an intelligent, competitive campaign for anything.

They will one day have to admit that Pelosi, Waters, Schumer, Perez, Ellison, Harris, Booker ......... aren't what they should be selling.

But until they figure that out.... more power to 'em  !

I would rather have this as a "right to refuse service" than a "religious" one, because I don't owe anybody a cake to begin with (regardless of their sexuality).

That is hilarious!
"The vote was narrow not because of the number of justices for and against, but because of the slim precedent it sets."

This is a huge symbolic victory.  We're turning the corner back to normalcy.

Don't get your hopes up just yet.  When valedictorians are able to make religious statements in their graduation address, without being accused of violating the Establishment Clause, then we are beginning to turn the corner back towards normalcy.  We aren't quite there yet.

This decision clearly demonstrates (at least for 7 of the justices) that the Supreme Court has not gone completely off the deep end, like the Democrats.  There is still some sanity on the Supreme Court.  Too bad we can't say the same thing about all those lower court decisions this case went through before reaching the Supreme Court.

I don't "hope".

I never said the battle was over.  We can at least get conservative speakers into the venues now -- albeit with heavy security.  Once their in the venue, the crowds are pretty civil and listen.

Things aren't going well for the Dems.  Also, this Marxist infrastructure has been laid down for decades.  It's not going to get completely wiped out in a year or two, but Trump is chopping them off at the legs.

It certainly did not go well for them in 2016, but the 2018 election is just a few months away.  Considering this RINO controlled Congress has done so little to fulfill Trump's promises, and the out-right animosity Congress has shown, I do not think it will bode well for the GOP this November.  While it may be historically normal for the party occupying the White House to lose a few seats during their first mid-term election, I think there is still a lot of anger with the GOP in Congress and that will also manifest itself in November.

The Dems will be destroyed in November. They have nothing, and the people are sick and tired of them.  Any old school or moderate Dems have left for independents or Republicans. That's why the Dems have been widdled down to appeal only to a radical minority.  They have no money, no candidates, and no American platform.  We are in the majority, and November is going to be another bloodbath.  It's true about the incumbent party, but with Trump, what's been up is down and so on.  Things aren't as they typically have been.

Until you start reminding the voters that ObamaCare is still public law and has not been repealed, the border wall has not been fully funded, and DACA remains in effect.  These were key promises made by Trump.  All these things the RINO controlled Congress could have dealt with - for two years - and didn't.  I suspect their motivation was to make Trump look bad, but I think the voter is going to hurt them worse this November.

Democrats have never run on an American platform.  They can only win through deception, and yet they do win.

Remind us? Are you serious? Voters know exactly what's going on and haven't let up one iota since 2010. We kneecapped the entire Dim party of new blood, forcing them to rely on the failures within the party to advance their agenda.
Every successive Midterm has furthered their demise to the point they are nothing but an empty shell, a placeholder for a failed Marxist movement.

The Dim party has lost so much, that their own base jumped ship to other movements.
Yes, the RINO are their own worst enemy, but purging the party of these scum in no way effects the GOP negatively, even if the dim party were to somehow miraculously take the majority, not one thing would change, Trump would still have the same headaches he has with the RINO in power.

I for one could give a shit if the Dims stole all the RINO seats, sometimes you have to amputate a gangrenous toe to save the foot.
