This should be interesting, especially when he drags a liberal institution kicking and screaming into prosperity.

Just one week into his new position as president of Purdue University, former Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels released an open letter disparaging the current financial and professional state of American higher education.

Daniels, who briefly considered a run for the Republican presidential nomination, took up his new job last week after the conclusion of his second term as governor. Those who wondered what kind of administration a conservative reformer like Daniels would bring to Purdue weren't kept in the dark for long; the new president immediately published a laundry list of problems facing higher ed, from the financial to the philosophical.

"College costs too much and delivers too little," he wrote in the letter. "Students are leaving, when they graduate at all, with loads of debt but without evidence that they grew much in either knowledge or critical thinking."

The letter doesn't stop there. Daniels also criticized administrative bloat, grade inflation, political correctness,

We need more of this iat all levels of education and it is certainly true at the collegiate level. I noticed one person who supported Mr. Daniels and none who disagreed. Knowing the leftward leanings of most university level educators I would think he is going to face some real oppostion going forward. More power to him.

Could this be the lit match on the fuse to make change, kill PC, fundamentally change the education system?
Mitch Daniels is quite a leader, this could lead to something.

Four colleges to cut faculty hours to Part-time status, blames Obamacare

Four public colleges and universities:  Florida's Palm Beach State College, Pennsylvania's Community College of Allegheny County, Ohio's Youngstown State University, and New Jersey's Kean University, are all planning to move adjunct and "contingent" faculty members to part-time status in order to avoid an Obamacare provision requiring businesses with 50 or more full-time employees to provide health coverage for at least 95 percent of their workers.

All the Obama stuff sounds great where we all live great, no one suffers and everyone gets along.  But at some point the rubber has to hit the road and fantasy land becomes reality and all that BS that you can get lots of something for nothing explodes in your face.

I told my kids that their vote for Obama is going to hurt them more than it is going to hurt me.  They are just starting to see the impact and I think by the end of the year Obama will not be able to hide behind his dream land speeches because the economy and healthcare will start squeezing and when things go to hell it is not the upper income or more established people who get squeezed first.  Said it before and I think it is proving to be true, that Obama followers are like sheep and they happily followed the path they were led right into the slaughter house.

I am glad that someone in an educational institution is speaking the truth.  Our society recently has no tolerance for speaking the truth.  Seems like they are happier when someone blows smoke up their arse than someone who tells them exactly what is going on.
