Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG

      Select the Boot.ini tab

In the Boot Options section at the bottom, uncheck /SAFEBOOT option

      Click OK
The /safeboot entry will now be removed from the Boot.ini file.
      Restart Windows

Hope that works, but it depends on what version of Windows you're running.
Check Microsoft website help section on your specific version.

When you're done, run your anti virus, then defrag, and reboot again.

Not sure if you can access it, but if you can, you can do a roll back to an earlier date, but you may not be able to get there through safe mode.

Thanks for answering,Solar.Sometime after I posted my original message,my daughter called me from her home in Alabama and using her computer we solved the problem.I went to System Restore and rolled back to September 8th..Now my computer is running great. What a relief!!! I had been working on it for two days.!

But I did write down your instructions in case I ever need those. Thanks to all of you who offered help.

Oh I forgot, in the bottom right, is Start, click that and then the Run tab, then enter Msconfig there.
No caps.

Thanks

Yeah, I mentioned rollback, but wasn't sure you could access it in safe mode.
Glad you could.

Actually I could access System Restore from safe mode, but getting back into normal mode took a little work, but there were instructions on how to do that.I followed those and it worked. WHEWWWW!!  ;D     I'm as happy as a kid with a lollipop, just to know I don't have to work on this computer all day tomorrow.!

Boy, did this one get hijacked or what?

Anyhoo...

Talk about "vicious" dogs seems sorta silly when we're talking about "Buddy Tough" the poodle.

The old weirdo owner may need some help, but did they have to put the dog down, especially while the man was behind bars?

Yeah, I don't know who is more of a pest, the dog that does what dogs do, or the old man racing around town on a laen mower?
Oh I know, the people that would rather kill a mans friend than deal with the problem.

What kind of hick town do these people live in?

Just how is the old man a "weirdo"?  He loved and missed his dog so he tried to rescue him.  "Buddy Tough" was probably the old man's best friend and only companion.

This whole thing really pisses me off.  Why would they kill the POODLE?  These butchers knew that the old man loved the dog and went to extreme lengths to get him back.

This was obviously retribution and revenge against the old man.  I feel really bad for him.

I know how it is to have a dog as a companion and friend.  We have three dogs, and our German Shepherd is my best buddy.  She is more intelligent than most humans I know, and is a real sweetheart, but if somebody ever threatened ANYBODY in our family, our German Shepherd would protect us to her death.

If anybody killed our German Shepherd, I can guarantee that there would be swift and lethal retribution, the same as there would be if somebody killed one of our children or grandchildren.  I'm a nice guy, but I have "the line" that nobody should cross.

I will see you guys later.I have to go see about getting my grandson's guitar strap fixed. His band has a gig this Thursday night somewhere in Raleigh.

At least he brought it to my attention on Tuesday afternoon instead of waiting until Thursday morning! ;D ;D ;D
