Why, I thought it was only a few hours ago that Josh Hawley was at CPAC lecturing about small government and telling us how conservative he is. He's not a complete joke like Lindsey or the Turtle, but he has made it to the Dumbo list by doing this. Seems like a social conservative, but an economic populist.
I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!

My sense here is the Hawley is specifically targeting those corporation who're playing a willing role in the BLM/Leftist movement with this $15 minimum wage. If they're willing to support political leftists, then why not their own employees.

Be that as it may, it would only be destructive and achieve nothing, except for slight short term revenge.

There is only one way to regard a minimum wage law: it is compulsory unemployment, period. The law says: it is illegal, and therefore criminal, for anyone to hire anyone else below the level of X dollars an hour. This means, plainly and simply, that a large number of free and voluntary wage contracts are now outlawed and hence that there will be a large amount of unemployment. Remember that the minimum wage law provides no jobs; it only outlaws them; and outlawed jobs are the inevitable result.

The Government has no business telling employers or employees what the wage should be. If we laugh gleefully at these woke companies having to pay $15 minimum wage now, we'll regret it later when they drastically raise their prices to pay for goods and services.

I'm in total agreement with you. IMO, the old adage applies, "what goes around come around."  Moreover, it's never a wise move to stray from a core principle, even if it is well intentioned.

I do agree with you that we need to find a way to punish those woke companies, and indeed there are some ways to do that. This is not one of them, because it would hit us harder than it hits them. Like the saying goes, "If something is not broken, then don't try to fix it". Radical, naked overnight change like this will only serve to destabilize the country further and push us towards their "Great Reset". Senators like Hawley are supposed to oppose that, especially after oh-so passionately defending conservatism and small government at the CPAC.

The Babylon Bee is a satirical news site, so it's probably not actually true. But the fun fact is, that it might as well be
