On Thursday Nov. 9, when President Trump and his team visited Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Chief of Staff John Kelly and a U.S. Secret Service agent skirmished with Chinese security officials over the nuclear football.

I've spoken to five sources familiar with the events. Here's what happened, as they describe it:

When the U.S. military aide carrying the nuclear football entered the Great Hall, Chinese security officials blocked his entry. (The official who carries the nuclear football is supposed to stay close to the president at all times, along with a doctor.)
A U.S. official hurried into the adjoining room and told Kelly what was happening. Kelly rushed over and told the U.S. officials to keep walking — "We're moving in," he said — and the Americans all started moving.
Then there was a commotion. A Chinese security official grabbed Kelly, and Kelly shoved the man's hand off of his body. Then a U.S. Secret Service agent grabbed the Chinese security official and tackled him to the ground.

somebody at the Chinese end either didn't get the memo or decided to mess with the Americans anyway.

Chinese security detail apologized to the Americans afterwards for the misunderstanding.

Chinese, Russians, NoKo's, and a lot of other countries prone to socialism / communism / dictators......... are always a few cookies short of a dozen when it comes to modern professional behavior.  A lot of them haven't evolved much beyond the middle ages, or in the older cultures, the year 1000 BC.

Definitely still in "conquer your neighbor" and "kill the peasants" modes, even if we all pretend that's a thing of the past.  So it doesn't surprise me to see a couple of guys act like they think they're Genghis Khan.

Kelly said "Fuck Diplomacy, take his ass down".
No, I wasn't there, but we can be certain those were standing orders.

"a U.S. Secret Service agent grabbed the Chinese security official and tackled him to the ground."

Bush would have apologized, and Obozo would have bowed in disgrace.
Trump? Well, I think the Chinese response speaks for itself.

During President Donald Trump's visit to China last November, a brief skirmish reportedly broke out after a Chinese security official placed his hands on White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

The skirmish occurred during the president's tour of Beijing's Great Hall of the People, according to an exclusive report broken over the weekend by the news site Axios.

]As the president and his team entered the hall, Chinese security officials reportedly blocked the U.S. military aide who carries the so-called nuclear football.

An unnamed U.S. official then "hurried" into the hall to inform Kelly of what had occurred. The chief of staff rushed back to the entrance to urge everyone to keep walking.

"We're moving in," he reportedly said.

That's when this happened, according to Axios: "A Chinese security official grabbed Kelly, and Kelly shoved the man's hand off of his body. Then a U.S. Secret Service agent grabbed the Chinese security official and tackled him to the ground."

And that was it, apparently. The skirmish was over and those who saw it were reportedly asked to remain quiet and tell nobody.

The head of the Chinese security detail that stopped the aide with the nuclear football and later accosted Kelly "apologized to the Americans afterwards for the misunderstanding," according to Axios.

It remains unclear how exactly Axios learned of this skirmish, though contributor Jonathan Swan mentioned speaking with "five sources familiar with the events." Note that all five sources are apparently anonymous.

I'm told that at no point did the Chinese have the nuclear football in their possession or even touch the briefcase. I'm also told the head of the Chinese security detail apologized to the Americans afterwards for the misunderstanding," Swan's report concluded.

Still the incident remains mysterious.

Chi-coms testing our resolve?  This was no accident!  I wonder what Q will have to say about the back story of what was going on behind this incident?
