Why?  Why would Sessions make a statement against Obama's overreach of power on immigration, but then state that they wouldn't impeach him!  Obama doesn't comply.  He doesn't honor the Constitution, so how in the hell do they expect to stop him?  Using the power of the purse??  Really?  It sure as hell hasn't worked in the past.

So...here we have a sneak peak at what to expect when the new majority takes over ... nothing!  The GOP is going to roll over as usual.

Sen. Jeff Sessions: 'We're Not Going To Impeach President Obama'

WASHINGTON -- Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) took impeachment over President Barack Obama's immigration action off the table on Friday.

"No, we're not going to impeach President Obama. Or have a move to impeach," Sessions said at a Heritage Foundation event and then added, "The president has certain powers and we truly believe -- and I think it's accurate to say that he abused those powers."

Sessions urged Congress to come up with an approach to reverse the president's executive action, which will grant deportation relief to some 4.4 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.

According to the Alabama Republican, Congress can counter the action by using the power of the purse...

Probably to take away one of Obola's game chips. Just like Mitch stated, he wouldn't shutdown the govt.
Smart? Maybe, but it looks like the Establishment and TEA are aligning on message.

Hmm...maybe we should all get in line with what they're doing. Just a thought.

I agree but perhaps they should just ignore Obama. Not announce their intentions and simply start sending small immigration bills to his his desk.

suz, exactly where would you find 67 senators to convict and remove Obama from office? We should concentrate on things we can do, not things that have no chance. Impeachment of Obama would be exactly what he desires as a distraction from all he is doing

I'm the biggest Obama impeachment freak to walk on America soil. I would love to see him stand before congress and be mocked like he does to us. My bumper wouldn't have enough room for Hillary. But if it's going to hurt our Conservative train (not GOP) going forward then i'm all for waiting to see what we voted in. I'm loving the Conservative votes we impregnated into the GOP. A couple of more voting cycles and bingo we'll have full glass of TEA.

After the GOP tidal wave that just took place I believe we'd have enough vote for impeachment.  No one and nothing has been able to stop his overreach so far.  So what if it causes a distraction?  Removing him from office is about the only thing that's going to stop him.  This country will not survive the economic burdens he has placed on this country and we certainly will not be able to sustain the massive influx of illegals that are coming our way.  Texas, Arizona and Florida will be hit the hardest.  I live in Florida and though Scott has turned things around to some degree, there is no way that we are going to be able to sustain them.  Has anyone given thought as to what is going to happen when our economy finally crumbles?  Where are the illegals going to flee for a free ride?  Canada won't accept them.  They will be here to say.  Do you really want to live in another Mexico or Guatamala?  That is where we are heading.

Why should TEA sell out to RINOs? Is this softening on your part something we should be worried about here?

Agreed! I'm sure the GOP realizes that impeaching Obama would be an exercise in futility and are moving away from that idea. Congress does control the $$$, use that to put up roadblocks.

Conservatives need to get ready for 2016 and start grooming candidates to kick out the RINOS in congress and in the states also.

Impeachment, while great looking, is not practical.  I think McConells decision ot not shut the government down is a mistake and here is why.  Defund the amnesty program in the lame duck.  Of Course Reid will not allow that so the spending bill doesn't pass and government shuts down.  The firs order of business once the new Congress is in is to pass the bill to REOPEN government.  Of course then ALL the dems will have to come out in opposition to support obummer.  That then places the DEMS on record as opposing reopening the government and ALL the GOP members get credit for supporting it!

Suz, you obviously did not read my post. Where will the 67 senators come from to convict and remove Obama from office? The House could impeach, but without the ability to remove him from office it would be a distraction.

All we need is another Bill Clinton impeachment, you can see what good that did for the U.S.

Its hard to say?

Are you talking about giving Republicans control of the House for 12 years (from 1997 to 2009) or control of the Senate for 10 of those 12 years.

Or was it putting Bush in the White House in 2000...

I feel that the presumed negative effect of Impeachment of Bill Clinton, like the Government Shutdown (by Clinton!) under Gingrinch is largely a myth, created by the MSM to cow the Republicans into not using their two most powerful weapons - Impeachment and the Power of the Purse.

Be that as it may, the decision to Impeach, in my not so humble opinion, should never be shied away from on the basis of political expediency. Nor should it be promoted for similar reasons.

There is only one reason to Impeach the President - because he has broken the law. And, if he has broken the law, Impeachment is no longer an option, it is an imperative!

To fail to Impeach a president who has broken the law is to become complicit in his lawlessness.
