I ask this because of the following fact:

In any given election, 40% or more of Americans vote Democrat.

How can they do this knowing how corrupt the party is, how lawless it is.. and worst of all, knowing it is the party of baby killing?

I mean, you would think that this country, founded on Judeo-Christian principles would produce better people.. or something.

It's rather a head-scratcher. But then I look at the so called mainstream media and it's like... yeh... that explains it. Garbage in, garbage out... People actually watch cnn and msnbc.. maybe not "many" but one is too many.. 

When I was very young, in grade school, i remember this one time when parents could visit in the classroom and this one parent said something to the teacher (in front of all of us) about how we need to teach students how to THINK. I thought to myself.. oh my... he seems like some kind of whacko.. I mean... young people think such things..

Today, I think of that man and thank God for him... He is so right.. People do not think. They let the blasted media do their thinking for them.

There is nothing wrong with the American people which hasn't been wrong with human nature for a very long time.  This is why our Founders created a Republic, rather than a pure Democracy,  In a Democracy all that's needed is the whim of 51% to decide the fate of any issue or any individual. A Democracy has been described as two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for dinner.  However, just as Benjamin Franklin warned that this Republic they had given us would only be ours "as long as you can keep it", the danger is that far too many American have been turned off to any participation in politics,.  This has been part of the cradle to grave indoctrination of the Left, which creates either more of their own or others who want no part of the political process.  Either way, it gives the evil doers far too much power and control.

thanks.  I didn't express my thought clearly enough in the part you highlighted. What I was eluding to is the fact that the Far Left have taken over our educational system, Hollywood and the media, as well as most of the Deep State.  The indoctrination either creates new recruits to the Marxist cause or it turns people off to politics, from sheer overload and disgust.  Either way, this helps the Marxist coup which has been going on since the days before the House Unamerican Activities Committtee and Senator Joe McCarthy.

i heard that was attributed to Lincoln but he just repeated it, was said by someone else. I am not sure what the truth is on that but in any case, I adore A. Lincoln... have read many books on him.

He was really big on that created equal thing in the Bill of Rights, and I mention that because people are definitely NOT treated equally by our system... which I am sure you realize..

anyway, yeh, I totally agree about how the Left are indoctrinating our children and teaching them to hate conservatives (my words). As i mentioned we are taught many things in school but thinking does not appear to be one of the things we are routinely taught.. Now, all humans "think" but we do not think thoroughly or logically all the time

A bad as things have gotten, it gives me great comfort and confidence to now that our nation has endured far greater challenges than we face now.  Abraham Lincoln was prone to falling into depression to the point of despair through the many personal tragedies of his life, beginning with the death of his mother when he was a boy. Through all of this, it would have been understandable for him to have become a cynical 1  , yet he seemed to have mastered the art of viewing problems as opportunities, rather than obstacles.  He learned life's valuable lesson that if you do the right thing, everything will eventually work out for the best. Lincoln seems to have transitioned from agnosticism to become a True Believer with an enduring Faith.  He's inspirational! I'm sure you agree

i have read books on him and he did beleive in God, probably from an early age, though I don't know much about that particular thing..

I have been doing the right thing for a long time and all i ever get is.. more problems...

OK, that's not all i get.. and i try to remember what Jesus got for doing the right thing... sigh.

My Dad was a bomber pilot in WWII and was shot down over Germany and spent the last seven months as a POW in a German prison camp.  This greatest generation faced far more problems than any of us have had to deal with.  Yet, they succeeded in Making America Great.  Perhaps we've just had it far too easy for far too long and it's time for Americans to rediscover that we have far more that unties us than the things others exploit to divide us.

I'm more concerned with our overall voter turnout than who we vote for. I wish we were smarter politically and more engaged overall.

I know that my opinion is not popular but nothing worries me more than high voter turnout.
Ignorance is rampant. Currently we depend on the ignorant not to show up or we would look like San Fransisco and LA. If you do not know what you are doing then stay home. Don't vote  because celebrities, preachers or friends say you should.

Their is a reason that Democrats have voter registration drives in front of Wal-Mart and profile who they want to convince to register. Thank God most of them do not show up at the polls. If they do not know who they are voting for then they have a 50-50 shot at best. If everyone in the US voted we would be in deep chit.

The Republicans are terrible at PR. We do not fight back against Democrats with stupid commercials meant for stupid voters. Numbers they do not get.
We don't show them a picture of a bankrupt SS and Medicare system means to offset throwing grandma off a cliff. We don't show them doctors rejecting Medicare patients now and then closing up their offices if Universal Medicare is passed. We don't make fun of free college by showing kids laughing at government while having frat parties and then show class rooms with 2 students or kids getting their first pay check with coins taped to it because government stole it. We don't show the contrast of how Socialism is sold vs history of Russian breads lines.
