Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently said
that if Republicans win a Senate majority in November, he will attach conservative
riders to must-pass spending bills to stop President Obama's agenda.

In short, he pledged to defund Obama's liberal policies.

"We're going to pass spending bills, and they're going to have a lot of restrictions
on the activities of the bureaucracy," McConnell said. "That's something he won't
like, but that will be done. I guarantee it."
We agree 100% with this approach, but it is a 180-degree reversal from Mitch
McConnell's previous position. Last year, he said defunding was "not conservative
policy" and "could not and would not work."

This flip-flop raises some important questions.

First, where was Mitch McConnell last year when conservatives in the Senate like Ted
Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) fought to defund Obamacare?

Senator McConnell originally said he opposed Obamacare funding, but then caved when
it mattered and helped Harry Reid and the Democrats fund the law.

Second, why wait until next year to start defunding the president's agenda?

Republicans don't need a majority to defund the president's agenda. They currently
have the 41 votes needed to stop bills that fund things they oppose. They just need
the courage to take a principled stand.

Senator McConnell can be true to his word before Election Day, if he really means
what he says.

He can start in September by opposing any bill that funds the president's executive
amnesty as Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has suggested.

When asked about this strategy, McConnell said, "I hadn't heard about that before,
we'll talk about all that when we get back in session."

He's CAMPAIGNING. He needs the base. Without us, he'll lose.  When/IF he wins, you'll get a big "FU" for your support.

I am not a "Mitch McConnell" fan and would of loved to see him picked off in the primary!
With that said, I believe he will move to the right if we take control of the senate. It is the only place he could go. With a conservative House he will support their bills and put republican legislation on Obama's desk. Obama will have a hard time calling it a do nothing congress when it is his veto pen stopping legislation.
The man that is far worse the McConnell is Harry Reid. It is time to embrace the RINO because the alternative could be far worse!
Keep your eye on the ball! and control of the senate is the ball!! Scott Brown is a RINO but I'd love to see him win! Might be replacing a lib with a RINO but it would put the republicans one more seat up!

I don't agree! McConnell know that in any negotiations you never start from the center! He will move to the right and push a conservative agenda but will he stick to it or cave is the real question! I just don't trust him to stand on principal But by ant measure he is better then Reid!!

Sol you DO agree. He'll never be a Ted Cruz, and IF he wins, THIS is as far right as you're gonna see him. Yeah, he's better than Reid, but don 't be fooled. Even Hillary moves right during an election.  How soon you forget his vow to CRUSH the Tea Party! These RINOs don't talk this way about the Dems. That's why they're RINOs

Would someone please explain why, rather than impeachment and throwing the lot of them from The Obama and his ugly wife themselves, down to Lois Lerner and her missing emails and the Federal Dog catcher.

We are talking about "defunding" this or that, or "lawsuits" should the RNC take the Senate and keep it's majority in the House of Representatives.

I seriously do not understand, what the thinking behind all this "defund" and "sue" crap is. When our law, our legal system, our Constitution provides a very fast, simple, and effective answer to the harm and evil this President and his leftist cronies have done to this nation over the past six years.

It's called Impeachment, and then prosecution for any crimes, including abuse of power of government office, they may have committed.

Someone please explain to me, why everyone wants to run around pursuing lawsuits, and legislation to "defund" this and that.

When they can simply repeal, impeach, and replace.

I mean hell, fine let us suppose that instead of trying to create all these new and improved methods for dealing with an out of control, criminal, treasonous President and Vice President.

Congress actually does it's job as per the Constitution of the United States.

And they introduce, and pass impeachment measures, with a Conviction and then removal as sentence by the Senate.

Yes, while that would mean John Boehner, or as I like to call him John Boner, as Speaker of the House of Representatives and (third in line of succession) becomes President.

Until that is, the end of the Obama's term. At which point we hold elections and move on as normal.

So what? Whats so bad about that?

For starters, we could do a hell of a lot worse than to have Boner in there for a few years.

I mean hell for the past six years, we have already HAD a hell of a lot worse in the White House.

In the persons of Obama and Biden.

So would someone, seriously, explain to me why the push for lawsuits and "defund", rather than impeach, remove and repeal?

Please get real! We have had a duopoly in DC for several generations.
It's the head and tail of the same coin. Control of the Senate doesn't mean squat w/o principles.
We have Obama because of the gross incompetence and ineptitude of George the Buffoon,
your classic rhino. We don't need any of them anymore. Period!

Agree. The curtain concealing the Great OZ has been drawn back, only to reveal Dims running the show.
Today's RINO are yesterdays Dims.
The only thing that's changed, is it got a Hell of a lot worse since then.

And THIS is how the Dems maintain power. I follow William Buckley. Vote for the MOST CONSERVATIVE candidate THAT CAN WIN. The more conservative the Senate, the more pressure to the leadership to do the right thing.

McConnell is certainly not caving to TEA. He is saying what people want to hear in order to win his power grab.  Once he is in place, don't expect him to lean to the right; he's an old RINO and has been part of that country club for quite awhile.  Washington is broken.  We may win the Senate but the key is to be able to hold onto both House seats in 2016 and work to rid more RINO's...if we make it to 2016 ... IMO TEA will be seated in the oval office.

Folks we can forget impeachment and removal from office. That does not mean I don't think Obama deserves it. However, it takes 2/3 of the Senate for removal. Just ain't gonna happen.  the dems would love for the GOP to try this. They can't energize their base, but this would. Obama just proved again this week that he can't stand making a decision' Having a majority in the senate would force him into complying or vetoing. Vetoing means it is HIS decision and he doesn't have the courage to go it alone.
