I do think people are decompressing from the campaign season, and that combined with summer, and catching up on work, etc.  I think late August things will pick up again.

Add to that the mile-markers of real life: weddings, funerals, vacations.

July's conventions ought to be good for a few grim snorts and guffaws. Maybe McConnell will grow a chin, go berserk and grab a double handful of Trump's hair and just YANK. I had a good Carlos Danger joke for the Donks but those pervs would take it as a truth or dare and do it.

Now that we're in the slow season
between the primaries and the conventions,
this is a good time to write articles about
issues and general principles of conservatism.

It's a good time to build up the ideological infrastructure
that supports our political efforts.

I vowed never to support another lib running on the GOP ticket, and by God, I'm sticking to it.
Unless can come up with a valid reason to support Trump beyond "He ain't Hillary" I'm voting Cruz.

I have to admire your enthusiasm and "hope" that Cruz could still pull through.

But, I'm more of cynic than you are, and I don't see it happening.  As bad as Trump is, and he's not getting my support, I think he's going to win in Nov.

Not because he's great or a good choice, but I think everyone is burned out and over it already.  The Democrats seem almost more fractured and angry than we are.  I've even heard several Bernie supporters say they'll vote for Trump before Hillary.  It's been one of the longest and more frustrating primary races I've even seen in my lifetime.

We'll survive, whatever happens, and I do get the feeling that those in Washington may actually learn something after all this.  People are tired of all the games and BS and just want some normalcy back in their lives.  At least that's where I've been.  I may check in to the news briefly to see if the world is on fire anywhere, but I'm pretty done with most of it.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Writing in Cruz is more than that. It's a message to the left that we'll never give up and won't sellout our principles.
It's also a vote for Freedoms and liberty, as well as not being a part of the collapse of this still great nation.
I see no reason to support a lib, Nationalist/socialist or Marxist, their goal is one in the same.

Why is it so EASY to imagine Trump sitting back in an office, bragging to his friends, how STUPID the Republican Electorate is.

I said what they wanted to hear, and they bought it.  I got my name everywhere, right, I mean everywhere, they couldn't buy my hats and yard signs fast enough, my name is everywhere, even Hillary couldn't beat me, I mean, look around, I'm everywhere.  Jeb? said he could win the nomination without the base, I did it, really, really, I beat Jeb? at his own plan.  Flooded the Republican party with Democrats, they didn't know what hit them, I really, really did it, and I could have done it without a single conservative vote, those losers, I never wanted them, never, never needed them, they can take a hike.  Then I got the VETS, that was easy, stole them away from McCain and the Republican Hawks, that was easy, really, really easy, you just say reform the VA, and they all stand up and salute the new commander in chief, no really, they just fall in like basic training, I got them all, it was easy, really, really easy.  They're getting ready to anoint me king of the USA, just you watch, Barak never had it this good, they trust me, really, really trust me, I can't do anything to lose them, they hang on me like leeches, sucking up every word, not Crooked Hillary or Crazy Bernie, they can't say that, really can't say that, people love me, and I'm worth it, alright, really worth it, trust me, I'm worth it.

... One long runon brag fest.  Just what I DIDN'T want to hear from the media all summer long.

I wouldn;t call it boredom, more like resigned apathy. There is nothing to get excited over or get hopeful about. I still think there might be something brewing with Cruz and the GOP.....maybe wishful thinking on my part but if we keep telling them we are going to write in Ted then maybe they will listen.

I still think Trump is going to win, I think he will out buy Hillary

I expect that there are more surprises yet to be revealed this year.

Maybe even a deal between Cruz and Trump.

Such a deal would have been a lot more credible
if Trump hadn't gone with that "Lyin' Ted" business.

That was a huuuge turn off.

She commits her own brand of political seppuku.

She's now gone five full months without holding a full press conference, draws far fewer people to the events she deigns to attend, and spins seven stories every hour on why she has nothing to hide about emails. More than half her supporters say she could stay in the race even if she IS indicted (says a lot about criminal Democrats!) and not one serious observer believes she will escape SOME kind of charges.

This is not an election, it is a premature funeral procession. Shrill's or America's.

Transcripts of the first formal interviews are coming out now and will surely be analyzed for follow-up questioning before actually hauling Shrill into the box for Q&A. The Judicial Watch suits are also in play, from what I've read, threatening the timetable of the other investigators. (Can't tell if Gowdy's afraid Clayman's bunch will reveal things they don't want Shrill to know-they-know yet, or something else. Can't triple-think like they do.)

Meanwhile, nobody's snatched Trump's hair or "pied" him---whipped cream and bullshit. I deplore such restraint. He should wear what he's been saying.

I really hate this election cycle....

for me its a complete disinterest in what the candidates have to say. I know who I am voting for and have moved on from watching or interest in the "news" cycle.    I haven't given up nor have I given in, but I got things to do and which one of the clowns is elected hold no interest for me.

Well put!   It'll be like watching fireworks as the ship is sinking.  Going out with a bang - nothing graceful or honest about it, just a hellofalotta shreeks and finger pointing between the 3 worst of the worst as we slide under the waves.

Thats me as well Mom. When the LSM goes on and on about Trump, when articles about the fraud are all we find, I look for something else.
I've somewhat lost interest in the process since Leftists in both party's are all they're talking about.
I know who I'll be voting for and it won't be one of the libs.

Jeff got home last night and turned on the TV while we were eating, he tuned into O'reilly and I just let it go, He had Bolling and Geraldo on talking about this mix up with the vet donation... To listen to bolling fall over himself jumping thru hoops to excuse trump was disgusting. I told hubs to watch, everything we have hated in the last 7+ years with the left will now be standard procedure with the right.  I made it thru maybe 15 min before I just shut it off
