Do the people of California keep electing the marxist who in effect create these problems, or is voter fraud that bad?
Yes and yes. They let illegals vote.

I'd do a shelter, but I live on rock, so it's kind of hard. We've talked many times about burying one of our shipping containers, but I'd want to do it right, with an air filtration system, water supply etc, quite the undertaking.

I've seen fires jump 500' across a clearing, whether it was hot ashes or combustion, once the fire gets going, eats everything in its path.
I know the fires we have won't be out till our first rains in late October or Nov, unless we get some freak break and Winter comes early.
A fellow HAM friend of mine, lives on a mountain in WV, buried 6 Conex boxes for his house, built a roof over them, and covered it all in dirt.  His area is ALL WOODS, a fire would devastate his area, but, I think he could ride-it-out.  The real down side, there's so much natural gas in the area, if that stuff ever got to the surface and was lit, it might never go out.

How LONG does a typical fire last, from when the smoke gets heavy till it burns & the air clears up?   For fresh air, would you want a couple of days of cover?  Or could you just filter the crap and still have enough oxygen?
All animals are created equal; Some just take longer to cook.   Survival is keeping an eye on those around you...

I'm going to try something new and start an interview thread with Solar on the fires and convert it into an article.  If you jump in, make it a question.  Solar has lived in the area of California since the Gold Rush of 1849, and has seen it first-hand taken over by the Marxists.

Just caught that. Even though I mined much of the last 30 years, it hasn't been since 1849.
Oh, and as far as experience, I worked law enforcement and fire prevention for USFS, fought fires and even worked on the fraud Spotted Owl research program in the Sierra.

I remember commenting back then that this was the beginning of some warped leftist environmental program designed to shut the forest down to all human activity.
Yes, the left created an industry in the need to have an "Environmental Study" done on all land purchases. When I bought my land, I had a cover page and a page that said Title search, showing nothing, with the exception of my name as new owner, no leans or mining claims on the land and no right of ways, egress or access.

A decade later, my brother bought a parcel within a mile of me, his title search included an environmental impact study of more than 50 pages, amounting to unadulterated BS, which added another Five grand to the cost of the land.

Look how the left used the EPA as a bludgeon to beat people into submission when trying to carve out a piece of life. What you and I know as mud puddles in the rainy season, were renamed to "Vernal Pools' packed with endangered species. Yeah, when the puddle dries up, they either move or die, so yeah, endangered.
That's what they look for in these impact studies, anything they can use into forcing you to either walk away, or pay out the ass in fees to rectify the problems govt created in the first place.

Yes, any place that was wet more than 8 months out of the year was quickly designated as a wetland and put under the care of the Federal Govt, an obvious overreach of an oppressive govt out of control.

Yes, it's that bad. The left Gerrymandered the entire state, anyway, Socal and the BAT area, and the rest of the people suffer the damage they've inflicted.
But they didn't so it by themselves, the GOP'E refused to fight. Fuckin cowards~!!!

If you're in the middle of the burn, smoke could incapacitate you in short time, which is why you can't count on a generator, it too will stall, be it ash or lack of air.
When we get fires out West, all we can do is contain them and wait for Winter. Seriously, it's that bad out here. With millions of acres and thousands of stupid people, every year is a crap shoot, now add Marxist anarchists to the mix?

I'll say it now, if I catch one of these arson fucks starting a fire, I'll drop his ass on the spot, let the fire destroy the evidence.

Both?
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

Thanks KC, and yes, things are looking better for the next few days, until a front moves in, then we'll see.
Thankfully they brought in a fire chief from Az who knows what he's doing. Whoever was in charge previously had no clue what they were doing.

This guy wrangled up two more super scoopers to hit the fire with, as well as many loggers in the area volunteered dozers and equipment, he actually put out a press release asking for help, the community responded.
I'll know more on Thursday when the weather shifts and winds kick up.

Trump to Visit California

In California, tens of thousands of firefighters were battling 28 major wildfires as of Saturday afternoon, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Improving weather conditions had helped them gain a measure of containment over most of the blazes.

The White House said Trump will meet with federal and California officials on Monday. The president has said that western governors bear some of the blame for intense fire seasons in recent years, accusing them of poor forest management.

Trump's Democratic opponent in the November election, Joe Biden, on Saturday linked the conflagrations to climate change, echoing comments made a day earlier by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

More than 4,000 homes and other structures have been incinerated in California alone over the past three weeks. Three million acres of land have been burned in the state, according to the state's Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Thick smoke and ash from the fires has darkened the sky over the Pacific Northwest since Labor Day, creating some of the world's worst air-quality levels and driving residents indoors.

Much more....

Are the fires hitting wine country?
I think last year or the year before the winery's got hit

I don't think so, most wineries don't have dead vegetation around, kind of a natural fire break, or scar on the land, depending if you drink wine or not.
Personally I hate them, the libs moved to my area and started planting vineyards all over the place, in turn the water table plummeted and people were forced to dig new and deeper wells.

Yeah, her family is like a Mafia, they have their fingers in the wine industry, and yes, they own several.
If she was ever investigated for her wineries alone, she'd do prison time. That family is pure scum!

They've destroyed local towns through their corrupt connections.
