Thought? Like that ability before you should display, before you conflate immigrants and illegals. Actually using bounty hunters isn't a fantasy, it's applying the profit motive to an ongoing problem. BTW, are you aware that the IRS rewards people who turn in income tax evaders? So what's wrong with rewarding private citizens.

EDIT: Perhaps if businesses turn in illegals, the government agrees to forego the fine.

Again WTF are you talking about? Do you even know? At no point did I conflate immigrants with illegals.

I see bounty hunters as existing examples of private individuals that are given a legal ability to capture and detain people wanted by the courts. We also have prison guards at Federal Prisons that are extended some extraordinary powers. We also have 22 airports using private security more looking at it. Even the security guard has the right to hold someone caught shoplifting or trespassing.
Technically these bounty hunters may not be paid directly by the government but they are empowered by the courts with extra ordinary privileges to detain and deliver those who are guilty of missing their court dates..

You still have no idea what a bounty hunter does or why a bounty hunter does what they do. Again, there are already many people that are getting paid to do what you are describing. THAT IS A LAW ENFORCEMENT JOB. Bounty hunters work for a bounty hence the name BOUNTY HUNTER. Bounty hunters are not law enforcement and don't have the authority to arrest anyone. There is a reason why there are multiple law enforcement agencies with each agency having different responsibilities and authorities. Using bounty hunters to bring in criminal aliens is a bad fantasy. It might make a good movie though. Maybe you should write a script?

Like I said earlier, it's an interesting thought, but this is not a state court issue, illegally entering the country is a Federal issue, Bounty Hunters are licensed by the State.
In other words, the two shall never meet, there is no bail to attain.

We already come very close to doing it with US Marshall Service Special Deputies.
