Well, let's say that Ron Paul would manage to become the nominee.

So, it follows then, that...'Not voting for Ron Paul = a vote for Obama'??

Vote your heart. Use the tool our system gives you, and do what you can with the vote you have. But don't waste that freedom by not using it at all. I've heard many arguments FOR withholding a vote, but can NOT see myself doing that after shaking Carter's hand and voting the next week for Gerald Ford, the classic boot-licking sell-out piece of crap who pardoned Richard Nixon and sent the GOP into political exile by that perfidy.

I was not fond of my home-state boy on that one, no siree.

Well, I vote my conscience. Period.

As the article below states, people can be 'herded', put on a 'guilt trip', or vote for the 'lesser of two evils', if they so desire. None of which are for me.

From 2004, but still relevant today.

I would ask myself which one would the country be safer under... which one would do the least damage... and I would vote for that person...
Ron Paul scares me because I don't think he understands that sometimes we need to use our military in order to keep America safe... I'm afraid he would be too reluctant to use the military...so I would have to weigh the pros and cons heavily... if they came up even, that would be the only way I would stay home...

Quite the conundrum, eh?

Vote for Ron Paul and his McGovernesque foreign policy means we could lose our country to foreign aggression. Vote for Obama (or don't vote at all) and Obama's Marxist policies means that we no longer have a country to protect!

What to do... what to do...?

Once again it comes down to(as it USUALLY DOES) the lesser of two evils. As I said previously, I hold my nose and pull the lever for Ron Paul who may not be my ideal candidate but he certainly isn't in the same class with that Marxist freak.

I said as much when I held my nose and Voted for McShamnesty...actually Palin. But the same thing applies.

If RP got elected I doubt he would be able to institute very much of his platform, I certainly think everybody in congress (with half a brain anyway) would stone wall him on legalized drugs, it being our countries death blow.

The flip side is they'd likely do the same with economic or tax reforms.

But the scarey thing is, him being CIC he could issue an Exo
about rules of engagement for US soldiers that would likely get a bunch of them killed. Being how I had to look down both sides of a gun barrel in my youth with stupid crap like that hanging over me....I think not.

I think he actually does understand, but I also think Paul is somewhat of an anti capitalist.
The Country will protect it's assets and interests (that being commerce) around the World, the day we stop, thats the day we collapse as a nation.

I can't see anyone abandoning our way of life, not even Paul.
