OKLAHOMA CITY- A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order blocking a state constitutional amendment that would prohibit Oklahoma courts from considering international or Islamic law when deciding cases.

Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange's ruling prevents the state election board from certifying the results of last week's election in which the amendment was approved by 70 percent of Oklahoma voters.
   
Her order will remain in effect until a Nov. 22 hearing on a requested preliminary injunction.
   

It was issued in a lawsuit filed by the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma. Muneer Awad said during the hearing that the law stigmatizes his religion and would invalidate his will, which he said is partially based on Islamic Law.

So this means, according to that judge, that even international law would supercede our constitution?

I wonder if this dimwit would go along with shari'ia in OKC where it would be legal for a man to beat his wife for stupid actions, like this disregard for our national sovereignty.

We are no longer a Democratic Republic of laws, we are now subject to the whims of the rest of the World.

That is my biggest argument against Islum, it is more than a Religion, it is a political system, one which is incompatible with ours.
I don't believe it should have the protections under the 1st.

Solar, you're right. It's being treated as a political system instead of a religion. But even there, to accept it would be tantamount to losing our sovereignty. That's unconstitutional.

     The libs have grasped onto muslims as an affront to bush and the war originally..so they began their mad defense of anything muslim. Now it seems they got their feet stuck so far in it...they just keep it going....I guess they want us to have same problems that France and Germany have created for themselves by allowing unbridled immigration and special allowances...that they are NOW fighting to correct.
    Merkel stated that Germanys experiment with Multiculturalism failed and it was in relation to their muslim problems

     I truly dont understand how liberals think...now I know their answer is Im not on the same intellectual level as they are..and thats why I cant possibly understand that they are right and everyone else wrong...pfffffffffft
