There very free with our money.  ("Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) demanded")

A letter from 40 members of Congress and directed toward House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) demanded a national gun buyback program yesterday. The letter was penned by Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL). "Gun buybacks have proven successful in communities across the nation," the open letter to House colleagues reads. "Adding $200 million to the final compromise on the fiscal cliff could remove as many as one million guns from our streets." Such a step, said the Congressmen, would be a "simple, immediate step we can take to assure the public we are committed to taking meaningful action."

The Democrats also argued that the gun buyback program would be a form of stimulus:

Dimocraps are naive about a lot of things. There are over three hundred million guns in the US. $.66 a gun isn't going to make much of a dent. Someone needs to ask these A-hole Dims how much they expect to pay for each gun and what kind of weapons they expect to get back.

Oh, I think some will. Regardless of what the government pays for the gun buy back, if the criminal stole the gun to begin with, whatever he/she gets for it is 100% profit.

If they think they need a gun at a later time, they will just go out and steal another one.

The only thing these buyback programs do - as has been shown before - is to get every cheap, non working, dangerous to the user, piece of metallic crap, off the streets. No one who has just begged, borrowed, bought, or stolen a brand new 9mm is going to turn it for the prices they are offering in these buy back programs!

So. How much do you think you would get in a buyback program for a relatively new working gun?

Now don't beat me here but I do participate in these here things. I will buy any piece of junk I can out there for under $25.00 always have and will continue.
A few years back in WNC they had a buy back and I did well enough to buy two new guns, a revolver and a rifle. I was given $50.00 per handgun and $100.00 for long gun or maybe it was the other way around.
My biggest beef was it was no questions asked. I demanded receipts and a signature along with a badge number. I typed up a list of the guns I turned in with model, make and serial number. It was a person from the prosecutors office who was in charge and he didn't want to sign anything but eventually did. Also it's all cash!

Hey, I can agree, there are a lot of crappy Friday night specials not worth fixing, from rusted solid, to simply worn out pot metal, if you can pull a profit, go for it.
Sounds like a good idea to me.

I just now heard on a local station that in California they will give ya $200.00 for a shotgun. You can buy used shotguns all day long for under a $100.00. That's a nice profit. But they give gift cards not cash.

Why in the hell would anyone take a gift card from bankrupt California? Who wants to be laughed out of the store?  :tounge:

And yes, some criminals do think about profit.
